Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark (22) reacts during the second half of an WNBA basketball game against the Seattle Storm, Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

WNBA Analyst Sounds the Alarm on Caitlin Clark’s Apparent ‘Attitude’ Problem

Two-time WNBA All-Star Caitlin Clark is among the most essential figures in the WNBA right now. But while she is known for her incredible on-court prowess, broadcaster Cari Champion recently highlighted a few drawbacks in her, which were later relayed by journalist Jason Whitlock.

Champion went on to speak about Clark's behavior towards the officials and coach during a recent episode of her Flagrant & Funny podcast. After CC22's heated exchange with the Valkyries' guard, Tiffany Hayes, during their May 28 game, Champion opined that Clark often misbehaves with the coach and officials with a sense of "entitlement."

Whitlock highlighted Champion's comments amid a recent episode of his YouTube podcast, calling it Clark's "attitude" problem. He said, "I thought some of her behavior on the court [during the Valkyries game], attitude, and energy on the court backed up what Cari Champion was saying about her."

Champion also talked about how the league puts Clark on a pedestal, and she gets away with a lot of things. She said all this while reiterating a game last season when Clark told a referee to open their eyes. Moreover, Champion compared these conflicts with a recent technical foul given to Paige Bueckers for just clapping after a play.

On the other hand, Whitlock attempted to justify his criticism of Clark before his podcast episode as well. In an X update following the Fever vs. the Valkyries game, he mentioned, "The Golden State crowd was booing her [Clark] last night—that has to be the first time a women’s basketball player has ever been booed. No one’s ever cared enough."

But Whitlock's podcast co-hosts also discussed other WNBA players pushing the limits when it came to disrespecting the officials.

Caitlin Clark May Not Be The Only One With An Attitude

Although the podcast started with Whitlock, John The Liquidator, and Maurice Drake Jr. reacting to Champion's comments on Clark, Drake was not happy that only Clark was being targeted.

He quickly mentioned a few names that had been in conflict earlier. He talked about how Angel Reese slapped the clipboard out of the Sky coach's hands, and highlighted that Champion never criticized Reese the way she bashed Clark.

Drake Jr. also talked about A'ja Wilson and Kelsey Plum going off on referees at the podium, where the latter was in tears when she did so. But even then, Champion had nothing to say.

However, Clark has already mentioned that she doesn't carry the untoward on-court happenings beyond the court. So, her focus, understandably, will only be on doing better.

But as Drake Jr. highlighted, do you also think that other WNBA stars often get away after doing things that Clark gets criticized for?
