WNBA road games don’t often serve as an opportunity to make a fashion statement, but Sophie Cunningham manages to keep turning a routine team visit into news of its own.

The Indiana Fever captured their arrival in Las Vegas for an upcoming game against the Aces on social media on Sunday with the video titled "Hello, Vegas."

Cunningham herself also created her own transition video, which she posted on TikTok and then on her Instagram story.

The extra visibility was important considering that Cunningham’s attire had been customized for the Vegas venue, where she wore a black leather miniskirt with a white crop top.

Red high-heeled shoes and a matching purse complemented one of the boldest tunnel looks by Cunningham for this season.

That case was particularly important as Cunningham did not participate in practice due to sickness one week before being taken off the injured list by Indiana.

She played quite timely, contributing ‌9 points in 21 minutes on the bench while making 3 of 5 attempts from the three-point range.

The game ended with a score of 84-68 in favor of Indiana, once again showing how the tandem of character and talent of Cunningham works on fans.

That tandem of style and substance became apparent in her statements after the game when she said something about the reason for Indiana’s success on the road that had nothing to do with style at all.

Sophie Cunningham Speaks on Fever's Road Support

Cunningham had been ill early in the week and was unsure if she could play in Indiana’s toughest road trip of the year. But by Sunday night in Las Vegas, Cunningham was back on the court, and there was something in the air.

When asked about the Fever fans that follow Indiana everywhere they go, Cunningham did not hold anything back.

"A lot of teams say that every game is a home game, but I do really believe that. I think we have the best fans in the W. Worldwide, I really think wherever we go it's a home game for us," she said.

The sentiment was justified because Indiana’s 84-68 victory was its first-ever regular-season win in Las Vegas, having lost 11 in a row against the same opponent on the road.
