Watch: Kelsey Plum and Paige Bueckers Share Laughs Before Matchup

Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings extended their winning streak to four as they beat the Los Angeles Sparks 104-96 on June 5, 2026. But what caught the public eye was Kelsey Plum and Bueckers sharing a good laugh before the game.

Plum and Bueckers have held mutual respect since Bueckers' 44-point performance against the LA Sparks on August 20, 2025. Plum ended that encounter with a floater, with the LA Sparks winning 81-80.

Both players have since been involved in leg-pulling and competitive trash-talking. Their bond has become strong, with the WNBA also posting about their banter before their game.

Per a June 6 X post by WNBA on ION, Plum was seen reacting to Bueckers' trash talk, saying, "Rookies talking s*** is crazy!"

Recently, Bueckers was also interviewed before the Wings' game against the Sparks, where she was asked about her matchup against the two-time WNBA champion.

"If you look back, it just started last year," Bueckers said. "Even in the W Unrivaled, we just love competing against each other. We're really good friends off the court, but we're enemies on the court. She's just one of the best."

Bueckers and Plum were both selected for the First Team in the 2026 WNBA All-Unrivaled as well, alongside Chelsea Gray.

Bueckers averaged 22.1 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game, while Plum averaged 22.6 points per game with 4.9 rebounds and five assists per game in the 3v3 league.

Both players showed tenacity in their latest rivalry game between the Wings and the Sparks, with Plum scoring 27 points and dishing out six assists.

Meanwhile, Bueckers scored 18 points while also dishing out the franchise's all-time high of 14 assists. She now has a joint record for the most assists in a game by a Wings player alongside Arike Ogunbowale.

The 2025 No. 1 overall draft pick, Bueckers, and All-Star player Plum have both showcased their talent in this year's WNBA season as well.

How Are Paige Bueckers And Kelsey Plum Helping Their Teams

Both stars have been the faces of their respective teams. Bueckers has been averaging 18.3 points, 6.2 assists, and 3.6 rebounds per game.

Plum, on the other hand, is leading the points per game chart in the WNBA, averaging 26.8 points, along with 6.3 assists per game as well.

If we look at both teams' records, the Wings hold a 7-3 record and are second in the league standings. Sparks, though, have struggled, currently running with a 4-6 record, despite Plum's incredible performances.

The Wings will play the Minnesota Lynx next on Tuesday, June 9. It is going to be a thriller, as the Lynx are at the top of the league standings, with an 8-2 record.

Meanwhile, the Sparks will play against the Portland Fire on Sunday, June 7. They will hope to end their three-game losing streak in that game.

Do you think Paige Bueckers can lead the Wings to another win against the Lynx to further extend their win streak? Let us know in the comments.
