Caitlin Clark has never been shy about voicing her frustrations on the court, and Wednesday night gave her plenty of reason to do so again. Physicality has followed the Fever star all season, and this time it left her both injured and furious.
"I got kneed right in the quad. That hurts. The ref can't miss that," Clark said in her postgame press conference following Indiana's 88-75 loss to the Golden State Valkyries, addressing the uncalled contact that left her hobbled.
Clark was annoyed because in a second-quarter possession, Kiah Stokes seemed to strike Clark in the quad, knocking her down to the ground without a whistle.

This non-call happened mere seconds before another play occurred, during which Aaliyah Boston was whistled for something else.
"You can't miss calls like that. You can't knee me in the leg and knock me over," added Clark, adding to her remarks after the game, clearly upset about how the play went down.
Her frustration was evident in her actions on the court as well, as she made her way down the court to talk to the referee before leaving for the tunnel.
She didn't return before halftime, finishing the night with 13 points on 4-of-14 shooting, six assists and three rebounds while playing under a minutes restriction as she continues working back from her back injury.
Off the court frustrations aside, Clark's focus has already shifted to a different kind of team dynamic heading into All-Star weekend.
Caitlin Clark's All-Star Wish Gets Denied
"Whoever is drafting, if you want to keep us on the same side, we'd appreciate that," said Clark in an interview with reporters earlier this month, regarding her wish to play with teammates Kelsey Mitchell and Aaliyah Boston in the All-Star game.
However, this did not happen for Clark, since the league this year had done away with the traditional team selection process by fans, and had instead decided to form teams by two honorary general managers, Teresa Weatherspoon and Cynthia Cooper.
Weatherspoon selected Clark and Boston for her team, but Cooper selected Mitchell for her Team Coop, thus breaking up the team that Clark wanted to keep together.
The team that Clark has assembled is very strong and includes some formidable players like A'ja Wilson, Olivia Miles, and Jessica Shepard.
The 2026 All-Star Game tips off at the United Center in Chicago on July 25, with Cheryl Reeve and Becky Hammon leading the two squads. Clark will have to settle for facing her teammate instead of playing alongside her.
