The Washington Mystics win their fourth straight game for the first time, but an incident between Arike Ogunbowale and Cotie McMahon has drawn all the attention.

With six minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, Sonia Citron missed a three-pointer, with Ogunbowale standing her ground as McMahon tried to get around her for a rebound.

However, she swiped the Wings veteran in doing so, who quickly stood up and exchanged words with the rookie. Following the officials and the players helping de-escalate the matter, Ogunbowale called for a timeout.

As she walked away, Ogunbowale had more to say, which drew another reaction from McMahon. The Mystics guard was assessed a Flagrant 1 for that altercation.

The Mystics hand the Wings their second straight loss after the heartbreaking one-point loss to the Atlanta Dream, thanks to Shakira Austin and Kiki Iriafen's combined 50 points.

Austin finished with 28 points, 10 rebounds and four assists to lead the Mystics, while Iriafen added 22 points and nine rebounds. Guard Sonia Citron also chipped in 16 points, along with five rebounds, five assists and three blocks.

While the Mystics improve their record to 16-12 for the season, not all was good news coming out of the game. McMahon and Iriafen were both assessed with unsportsmanlike violations in the game, putting them in line to pay fines to the WNBA.

As for Jose Fernandez's team, while they were unable to get over the line, the individual stars still showed out, with Paige Bueckers leading the way.

Paige Bueckers is the Only Saving Grace

Bueckers is having an impressive sophomore year as she is one of the candidates for the MVP honors.

She once again showed that, despite the loss. Bueckers scored 23 points with five rebounds, two assists, and one block. She hit 9-18 from the field, including 2-5 from beyond the arc, and 3-3 from free throws.

It was a slow day for the rest of the Wings players, but Ogunbowale brought out her experience with 20 points, two rebounds, and two assists.

Meanwhile, No. 1 overall draft pick Azzi Fudd struggled with her shooting, posting only eight points and a rebound. Jessica Shephard's elite scoring prowess was not seen on the night, who also had eight points, six assists, and eight rebounds.

The Wings lost 81-75, and with the quality of attackers they possess, this outcome could have been easily avoided.
