"Stephanie White is crazy’: Jason Whitlock Blasts Indiana Fever HC Over Controversial Caitlin Clark Incident

It has been just a couple of days since veteran journalist Jason Whitlock tweeted a shocking statement that the Indiana Fever are looking to trade Caitlin Clark to the Los Angeles Sparks. He has now called Indiana coach Stephanie White "crazy" before justifying his claim.

On a recent episode of his The Fearless podcast, Whitlock analyzed the two-time All-Star's behavior after scoring a 31-foot buzzer-beater three-pointer for a 78-76 win over the Washington Mystics.

"There is a divide in that Fever locker room," he said. "People are choosing between Caitlin Clark and Stephanie White, and most of them are choosing Clark because Stephanie White is crazy."

Whitlock focused heavily on Clark's detached expressions when White is around her, saying that even the locker room is divided. He also thinks most of the team is choosing Clark over White.

"Nobody wants to be the bad guy," he continued. "Caitlin Clark doesn't wanna p*** off her mid-west, Iowa fans and say 'I had to get out of there', and Stephanie White and the people thar are orchestrating the Fever, they don't wanna be the bad guys."

Whitlock said that both parties don't want to be in the fans' bad light. He further said that the Fever don't want the fans to think that "they are a group of idiots" who couldn't get along with Clark, suggesting that the Fever want Clark to demand a trade, and he thinks that she should do it.

Amid the whole rumors and controversies, White and Clark remain calm and composed. But how did this relationship controversy spark in the first place?

Caitlin Clark And Stephanie White's Ongoing Rumors

The rumors of the friction initially started in the game against the Portland Fire on May 30, when both White and Clark had a heated exchange on the sidelines. After that, White also substituted Clark with rookie Raven Johnson.

But since that 100-84 loss, both have denied any claims of turmoil between each other. Clark also commented on the viral video.

"Two people being competitive,” Clark said. “There’s a lot of people out there in the media or on TV that think they know a lot of things and they’re just blatantly wrong. I ride for Steph. Steph has my back."

Both will now focus on the next game that the Fever are playing against a trembling Chicago Sky. The Sky have had a bad start to the season, holding a 4-8 record. The Fever have also not been in excellent form and hold a 6-5 record themselves.

Both teams need wins to stay in the competition. The Fever will play the Sky on Thursday, June 11, at the Fever's home, Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
