One moment between Lexie Hull and Brianna Turner was enough to shift the mood of Game 3 against the Las Vegas Aces at Michelob ULTRA Arena, and fans haven't let it go. Now Sophie Cunningham has spoken about what happened in the moment.
Early in the second quarter, with the score tied at 31-31, Hull and Turner got tangled up while fighting for position in the paint. Turner went down and pulled Hull with her, and Hull was called for the foul. Coach White rushed onto the court to protest and tried to call a timeout to challenge the call, but was hit with a technical instead.
During her recent appearance on the 'No Hesitation Show,' Cunningham explained what happened when White was assessed a technical foul while trying to challenge a call early in the second quarter.
"On that play, though, Steph(anie) White comes and calls a timeout and tries to challenge it," Cunningham said on the 'No Hesitation Show'. And one of the officials calls her for a [technical] for coming out on the court."

Cunningham offered a glimpse into the frustration on the sidelines, recalling a conversation with one of the officials.
"And we’re like, ‘We’re trying to challenge it.’ And then one of the refs, Tim, I said, ‘Tim, why can’t we challenge that?’ And he goes, ‘I don’t know the rules.’ What? You’re a ref in playoffs, and you don’t know the rules?"
Cunningham went on to stress the importance of the call, especially with Hull already in foul trouble.
"So, I mean, that’s just like one of the instances, that’s a bad call. And that matters because that was Lexi’s third foul – second or third foul – and she’s a guard that plays a lot for us," Cunningham further added.
The early foul on Lexie Hull was part of a night that never fully went Indiana's way. Las Vegas went on to win the deciding Game 3, 94-83, ending the Fever's season.
The call didn't decide the game on its own, but for Sophie Cunningham it was a moment that mattered, and she made sure people knew it.
Sophie Cunningham addresses A’ja Wilson fan interaction
Hull's foul wasn't the only moment Cunningham addressed on the No Hesitation Show. She also turned to A'ja Wilson's confrontation with a fan in Game 2 of the Aces-Fever series.
In the fourth quarter, Wilson collided with Cunningham and a foul was called on the Fever guard. A fan near the baseline then stood and pointed at Wilson, who walked toward him and was hit with a technical.
Cunningham felt the league let Wilson off lightly.
"That could have called for a suspension," she said on the aforementioned podcast. "But she's like the LeBron James of our league, so of course they're not going to suspend her. There's definitely a double standard."
She also said she didn't think the fan had done anything wrong, adding that pointing comes with the territory if the league wants passionate fans.
Wilson saw it differently. After the game, she defended her reaction, saying she wouldn't accept a man stepping toward her and pointing at her, whatever the context.
