Late in the fourth quarter at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, a routine possession between A'ja Wilson and Sophie Cunningham took a turn. What started as a battle for position quickly became the part of the night people would be talking about long after the final buzzer.
The moment came in the Las Vegas Aces' 99-89 loss to the Indiana Fever in their first-round playoff series on Tuesday, Sept. 29.
According to the video posted by Brick Center on X, Wilson tried to battle through a screen set by Cunningham, and the Fever guard was shoved down hard by Wilson.
What followed made it more than a routine foul. After the whistle and a called foul, a heated exchange broke out on the court, involving both contact and words. Wilson was given a technical foul for her part in it.
