Ben Shelton has experienced many remarkable moments during the grass season, but the one that shocked him the most was unrelated to tennis. The American tennis star's reaction to his girlfriend's latest travel move has gone viral for all the right reasons.

Shelton posted a message that spoke volumes to his Instagram story after Girlfriend Trinity Rodman landed in Stuttgart to watch him compete at the BOSS Open.

"🇧🇷➡🇩🇪 and somehow alive 🐐? @trinity_rodman," Shelton wrote on his Instagram story.

Considering what Rodman had just accomplished, the response makes perfect sense. She departed Brazil for Germany straightaway after the USWNT played two international friendlies at locations slated to host the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup. The total flying time without stops is close to 12 hours.

Rodman had previously been in touch with Shelton before the reunion, sending a sneak peek of a video chat with him while he was in Brazil. Upon her arrival, Shelton could spend time with both Rodman and his father, Bryan.

This was because his quarterfinal match against Sho Shimabukuro was postponed because of darkness. At the time of the postponement, the Japanese qualifier was leading 6-4 in the first set.

As Shelton resumes his match against Shimabukuro on June 13, a possible semifinal matchup with Jiri Lehecka awaits on the other side. The energy surrounding his campaign is sure to shift with Rodman by his side.

Trinity Rodman Brings More Than Just Support to Ben Shelton's Tennis World

That Rodman is in Stuttgart goes beyond a simple personal visit. Shelton has been vocal about the significance of her support during his tournament runs, which has become a regular feature of his ATP schedule.

"My girlfriend took the red eye from California last night to be here," Shelton said to reporters following his victory in the 2025 US Open first round. "So, we're here for the long haul, just looking forward to it."

Shelton also has wondered if Rodman can handle the rigours of professional tennis.

"I think there's a lot of things she's been surprised by with the tennis tour. Especially how much we play, and where we travel to. It's been kinda crazy for her to see. And I guess how long the matches are," he shared in an interview.

The daughter of NBA legend Dennis Rodman, Rodman is a forward for the United States national team and the Washington Spirit, who won gold at the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

Stuttgart is just the most recent chapter in the story of one of the most publicized young partnerships in sports, which began when she and Shelton went public with their relationship in March 2025.
