"So Much More I Have Left to Give": Olivia Miles Shares Emotional Response to $7,000+ Jersey Sales for Charity

Just weeks into her professional career, Minnesota Lynx guard Olivia Miles has discovered the connection between athletes and the Minnesota community. The young player found herself overwhelmed when presented with the impact of a team charity event.

After the Minnesota Lynx bagged a home victory over the Dallas Wings on June 9, Miles learned that her game-worn jersey had sold for more than $7,000. Per a video shared by X user and Minnesota beat writer Andrew Dukowitz, she felt a wave of emotion.

“That’s cool, I don’t even have words, if I talk about it, I’m going to cry, so I’m going to just make it short and sweet. I want to thank all of the Minnesota fans, like we’re not even halfway in yet, like there’s so much we can do as a team and so much more I have left to give to this city.”

The video was part of the post-game press conference that the Lynx stars were participating in, where Miles was informed about her jersey sales.

For Miles, the auction result was not just a career milestone. It is also a reminder that she has to continue performing for the franchise and keep contributing to its success.

The sale of the jerseys is organized by the Minnesota Fastbreak Foundation team, who auction the game-worn jerseys to fund projects. They support youth and community initiatives across the region, and the jerseys are being delivered after the season ends.

The $7,000 sale reflected what her 24-point, 7-rebound night had already proven.

The Lynx defeated Dallas 100-76 to extend their winning streak. Miles finished the game with 24 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists.

Her off-court hype is clearly linked to her impressive run this season.

From Notre Dame to WNBA Rookie Sensation: Olivia Miles' Rapid Ascent

Olivia Miles was the second overall pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft by Minnesota after transferring to TCU for her final college season. Her basketball journey saw her move from Blair Academy to Notre Dame and then TCU before finally reaching the WNBA.

She currently averages 17.2 points, 5.0 rebounds, 6.4 assists, and 1.5 steals per game. These impressive statistics placed her at the center of Rookie of the Year discussions.

In her debut month, she earned the Kia WNBA Rookie of the Month award for May and tied the record as the fastest player to reach 100 points and 40 assists.

She also became the first player to record at least 45 points and 20 assists through her first three games.

Following a brilliant debut of 21 points and 8 assists, she was named Western Conference Player of the Week.
