Caitlin Clark’s passing has once again caught the attention of Skip Bayless, as he offered strong praise for the Indiana Fever point guard.
In a tweet posted from his official X handle, the 74-year-old commentator highlighted Clark’s ability to make passes look easy.
He said, “As usual, Caitlin Clark has made 5 or 6 passes in this game that make you shake your head in awe. Best women's passer ever.”
Bayless’ comments for Clark came after the Fevers’ latest game against the Atlanta Dreams, which the Fevers won 95-91. Clark’s passing numbers further seem to back this up.

According to recent statistics, the Fever guard is averaging 8.3 assists per game in 2026 and currently leads the WNBA in assists. She is also averaging 21.9 points and 3.9 rebounds while shooting 45% from the field and 35.7% from three-point range.
To put her 8.3 assists per game into perspective, Clark’s playmaking remains on an unprecedented historical trajectory. After setting the WNBA single-season record with 337 assists (8.4 APG) as a rookie in 2024, maintaining an 8.0+ APG average into 2026 solidifies her position among the most prolific passers in basketball history.
The assists have been a major part of Clark’s impact since she entered the WNBA. While her ability to execute aggressive passes in tight spaces has earned her praise, it has also led to criticism for a high amount of turnovers, something Bayless has defended recently.
In a separate tweet, Bayless had praised Clark’s passing ability, while also stating that her teammates need to step things up, as they are simply ‘not ready.’
Bayless has been vocal about Clark throughout the season and has also spoken up on her behalf, particularly in online debates.
How Bayless defended Clark amid MVP debate
With Kelsey Mitchell, Aliyah Boston, and Caitlin Clark forming the big three of the Indiana Fever, Boston cited Mitchell as her choice for MVP after the game against the Dallas Wings. While it was not intended as a snub against Clark, a few people online interpreted it like that.
Bayless was among those who pushed back against Boston’s comments, as is evident from a long rant posted on his official X account.
“Exactly what good does it do for Aliyah Boston to say that publicly about Kelsey Mitchell when a lot of people out there think Caitlin Clark is making a bid for MVP?” He then added, “What good does it do Aliyah Boston to pick a side? I don’t know if that meant of their team, of the league, or both.”
The caption of Bayless’s clip also questioned Boston’s reasoning, as the sports commentator has the perception that Clark is not well-liked by the league and its audiences.
As the 2026 season continues, Skip Bayless’s strong defense of Caitlin Clark shows a bigger debate in sports media: Will voters focus on her high turnovers, or will they reward her bold, playmaking style that drives the Fever’s title hopes?
