Simone Biles sets a boundary after a fan questions Taylor Swift's wedding attendance

Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles knows pretty well how to control her online narrative. After posting photos on her Instagram from Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's July 3 wedding, Biles faced online criticism.

A fan left a comment and asked when the gymnast and the pop star had ever spoken to each other.

Biles responded by writing, "remember this, I only show y'all what I want y'all to know." Swift and Kelce hosted the lavish Friday night event on July 3 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Her reply spread across various social media platforms and was initially covered by USA Today.

Biles shared her experience from the celebration on Instagram. She captioned her photo carousel by writing, "the perfect love story, followed by the perfect nighTT."

That reply reveals how social media platforms never show the reality of a relationship, keeping the bonds private and out of sight.

The gathering included over 1,000 guests, with multiple reports stating that Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony. Austin Swift stood as the man of honor, and Jason Kelce served as best man.

This friendship brought Jonathan Owens, Biles' NFL player husband, and Kelce together as well. Both men are professional NFL players who built a friendship through their wives' close bond.

While some fans assumed the wedding invitation appeared out of nowhere, the friendship stretches back several years.

Why does their connection go back much further

Swift supported Team USA and Biles on Twitter ahead of the 2016 Rio Olympics. They met in person during the singer's Super Saturday Night concert in Houston in early 2017.

Biles posted a photo of them together online. She wrote that it was always a joy to watch her perform and noted how nice it was to finally meet.

During the Tokyo Olympics, Swift reached out when the gymnast withdrew from events due to mental health struggles.

Swift later also narrated an NBC tribute video set to her track "This Is Me Trying," according to teenVOGUE.

Biles presented the musician with the Gracie Grand Award in October 2021. The athlete even incorporated the song "...Ready for It?" into her floor routine at the 2024 Olympic Trials.

Biles has responded to online criticism before. Most recently, after facing harsh comments during her update about a medical emergency. After spending two weeks on bed rest, she took a vacation and received negative comments about traveling.

She respectfully explained her healing journey while setting clear limits on what people can say.

What are your thoughts on whether fans have become too entitled to the realities of a celebrity's private life?
