"She's a bad woman": Jason Whitlock shares his opinion on Kelsey Mitchell after scoring outburst vs. Minnesota

The Indiana Fever guard Kelsey Mitchell put on a show in the Fever-Lynx game on Saturday. Watching her torch her opponents with a season-high 37-point outburst drew special praise from sports commentator Jason Whitlock.

Mitchell led both teams in points and kept the Fever. While the Minnesota Lynx continued the scoring assault, Mitchell kept her team within striking distance.

"Mama, there go that woman. Kelsey Mitchell, she's a bad woman," Whitlock wrote in his post on X on Aug. 2.

Whitlock used legendary commentator and former player Mark Jackson's famous line, "Mama, there goes that man."

Mitchell went on a scoring run since the opening quarter. While the Lynx kept scoring, Mitchell came back with answers, tallying 17 points of the Fever's 33 points in the first quarter.

Of her 37 points, the Fever guard scored 23 points in the first half alone.

The Lynx saw their rookie Olivia Miles and veteran Courtney Williams combine for 55 points in the 108-100 win. Miles scored a team-high 28 points while Williams contributed with 27 points. Napheesa Collier also added 18 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists.

Mitchell's best game wasn't enough for the Fever to overcome the best team in the league. She shot 14- 21 (66.7%) from the field and 75.0% (6-8) from the 3-point line.

The Fever-Lynx game also saw the Fever star creating fresh history at the Target Center.

Kelsey Mitchell creates history after 37-point performance

Kelsey Mitchell created history on Saturday after her 37-point performance. The Fever star entered the game having scored 13 cinsecutive gams with 20 points or more.

Mitchell has now recorded her 14th straight game with at least 20 points. According to the WNBA, she is now second on the list, only behind A'ja Wilson (15). Previously, Diana Taurasi held the second spot with 13 straight games with those numbers.

The Fever star has been the most stable scoring option for the Fever. She has led the Fever in scoring 8 times, including this season, and she continues to show why she was in the MVP conversation last year.

Mitchell is currently ranked second in the league in scoring and third among the 3-point shooters. In 30 games in 2026, she is averaging 24.0 points, 2.7 assists and 1.0 steals per game.
