Serena Williams Reveals Daughter Olympia's Wish for a Venus Wimbledon Reunion

Tennis legends Serena and Venus Williams have officially received a wild card entry to play as a doubles pair at the 2026 Wimbledon Championships. After her first-round doubles match at the Berlin Open, Serena revealed that her daughter's wish to see the sisters play together is finally coming true.

The Grand Slam tournament will begin on Monday, June 29, and run through Sunday, July 12. When asked about her return to the prestigious green court, she said that it was he daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr.'s wish.

"Well, I think it's going to be fun, my daughter Olympia told me I should play with Venus at Wimbledon. She's always right, so I was like, 'Okay.' She's like, 'Mom, you should play with Venus.' But she's very serious; she's very smart. She's very wise, I think is a better word. So I said, 'OK, Olympia, we'll see if we can do it.'"

The Williams sisters' last match together came at the 2022 US Open, where they lost 7-6 (5), 6-4 to the Czech duo of Lucie Hradecka and Linda Noskova.

Former world No. 1 Serena recently made a shock return to professional tennis at the HSBC Championships after four years. She had previously said in 2022 that she was "evolving away from tennis."

Earlier on June 7, Williams spoke about what motivated her to return to the sport following the 2022 US Open.

"It's really about my kids getting to see me play," Williams said. "Olympia is a little bit older; Adira is very young. But it's also having an opportunity to still be able to possibly do that, one last time, is kind of cool and exciting."

The Williams sisters won six Wimbledon titles together (2000, 2002, 2008, 2009, 2012, 2016), including their first two as wild cards.

Beyond Wimbledon, their Grand Slam doubles record spans all four majors: 14 titles total. Alongside six Wimbledon titles, they won the Australian Open four times: 2001, 2003, 2009, 2010.

The sisters have won the French Open twice in 1999 and 2010, along with winning the US Open twice as well in 1999 and 2009.

The sisters have won singles Wimbledon titles as well, with Serena winning seven singles Wimbledon titles and Venus clinching five.

Fans and, most importantly, the 23-time Grand Slam champion's daughters would be eager to watch both sisters play at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London starting June 29.
