"Really Cool": Paige Bueckers Shares World Cup Experience at AT&T Stadium with Dallas Wings

Dallas Wings star Paige Bueckers exchanged her usual WNBA jersey for a soccer one. The team attended a FIFA World Cup soccer match between the Netherlands and Japan, which ended in a 2-2 draw. The Wings watched the match at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, and Bueckers was left impressed with the environment.

Before their 96-66 win against the Las Vegas Aces on Monday, the Wings were invited to watch a World Cup match. Bueckers elaborated on her first World Cup experience on an X post by the WNBA on June 15.

"They presented us with an opportunity; obviously, it's right here in our backyard in Arlington, Texas," Bueckers said. "They asked us to come to a game, and we all said yes, of course, and we got to enjoy that experience of going to the World Cup and being in that crowd, being in that environment, and it was really cool."

Bueckers talked about how she and the team enjoyed their first World Cup experience. She also said she was surprised to see people coming from Japan and the Netherlands to watch the match.

When asked about the player and the team Bueckers would want to watch, she came up with a few names.

"Looking forward to watching Messi, one of the goats, and Mbappé, one of the goats; if Ronaldo's playing, definitely him. And of course I'm rooting for Team USA."

Bueckers also posted photos from the stadium on her Instagram story. She posted one of her grabbing a hot dog away from the soccer game.

Team USA has had a fiery start to its 2026 FIFA campaign. They notched their first win with a 4-1 match over Paraguay on June 12. They currently lead Group D along with Australia and are in a prime position.

But amidst her experience at the World Cup, Bueckers and the Wings have been performing decently in the league so far.

Paige Bueckers and Team Maintain Their Form

In their recent win against a strong Las Vegas side, Bueckers scored 10 points, with seven assists, and five rebounds. She has been averaging 19.8 points, 5.8 assists, and 3.6 rebounds per game.

Due to her contributions, the Wings not only broke the Aces' six-game winning streak but also improved their record to 9-5.

The Wings now stand third in the Western Conference standings and fifth in the league standings.

The Wings currently rank sixth in points per game, at 88.1. Further, their strong point is assists, as they are averaging 23.4 assists per game and lead the league in this category.

The Wings are scheduled to play their next game against the Golden State Valkyries, who hold a 9-5 record. The game is set to take place on Wednesday, June 17, at the Chase Center.

Can Paige Bueckers lead the Dallas Wings to another win against the Valkyries in their first matchup this season? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
