Paige Bueckers sets WNBA record through third quarter of Wings-Storm game

Dallas Wings guard Paige Bueckers set a historic WNBA milestone during her team's dominant 92-70 win over the Seattle Storm on Sunday.

Wings head coach Jose Fernandez pulled Bueckers out of the game in the fourth quarter. But during her short time on the floor, she recorded two unique league achievements in just 26 minutes of action.

First, she became the first player in WNBA history since the league introduced quarters in 2006 to score 32 or more points without playing a single minute in the fourth quarter.

It covered both regular-season and playoff games, per ESPN Insight on X.

And second, she finished a perfect 6-for-6 from the 3-point range, tying the WNBA record for most made three-pointers in a single game without a single miss.

She now shares this record with league legends like Maya Moore, Cynthia Cooper, Tamika Catchings, Kristi Toliver, and Stefanie Dolson.

Bueckers completely took over the game right from the opening tip-off.

The Wings opened the game with an 11-0 run in the first 2:41. Bueckers hit two straight three-pointers to start the attack, and Awak Kuier added another.

Arike Ogunbowale then joined in, helping Dallas build a 19-8 lead before Seattle coach Sonia Raman called a timeout.

It didn't slow anything down. Bueckers scored 18 points in the first quarter alone, going 7-for-8 from the field and 4-for-4 from beyond the arc, matching the Wings' franchise record for points in a single quarter.

The second quarter was more of the same. Dallas stretched the margin to 35 points, with Bueckers connecting on her fifth three of the night.

She went into the break with 23 points on a perfect 5-for-5 from deep, the best three-point shooting half in Wings history, and matched her career high for threes made in a game before halftime.

Bueckers recorded her sixth and final three in the third quarter and finished her night with 32 points, four rebounds, four assists, and a steal.

Jessica Shepard and the bench also stepped up for Dallas

Jessica Shepard recorded her 21st double-double of the season with 11 points, 11 rebounds, and four assists. She surpassed 400 rebounds for the year, becoming the fastest player in Wings history to reach that mark in just 36 games.

The Dallas bench stepped up to score 24 points combined. Sug Sutton and Maddy Siegrist scored nine points each, while Li Yueru added six points.

On defense, Dallas locked down Seattle's main scoring trio to just 14 combined points. They kept rookie center Awa Fam completely scoreless on 0-for-5 shooting and limited Ezi Magbegor to just two points.

With the victory over Seattle, Dallas improves to 22-16 on the season, tying the franchise record for the most regular-season wins. With another win on Tuesday, they can reach the playoffs for the first time since 2023.
