Summer League basketball is not usually an attraction for any stars from other sports, but this season brought a rather unique moment that took place in Las Vegas on Friday evening.
The presence of Caitlin Clark at The Pavilion was not missed by anyone, and the Pacers guard Yuki Kawamura was not afraid to express his admiration for the Fever star supporting his team.
"She's the best player in the world right now," Kawamura said in comments captured on video shared by Tony East of Forbes Sports. "So it means everything."

The words of Kawamura hold weight because of his position right now. He needs a new contract after saying no to a qualified offer from Chicago, but with 8 points, 4 assists, and solid shooting off the bench on Friday, Kawamura saw firsthand what he was missing in Clark.
Clark did not come alone. Aliyah Boston and Bree Hall joined her at the Thomas and Mack Center, continuing a pattern that has defined the relationship between Indiana's NBA and WNBA sides.
Tyrese Haliburton returned that same energy last season by attending a Fever game.
That mutual respect has translated into results before. Both Clark and Boston were part of Indiana's presence during the 2025 NBA Finals atmosphere, and their WNBA squad has carried strong form into this season too.
The Fever are at 13-9 with a 6-4 record from their past 10 games, with Clark averaging 20.5 points and 7.9 assists per game in 18 contests. Boston is matching this by contributing 17.3 points and 8.7 boards each game.
While Indiana's NBA side builds momentum in Vegas, all eyes are also on whether Clark herself will be ready to close out the Fever's road trip on the same floor.
Caitlin Clark Set to Play Sunday, But Minutes Will Be Capped
Clark is expected to suit up Sunday when the Fever wrap their West Coast trip against the Aces, though she remains on a minutes restriction as she works back from a back injury.
Fever coach Stephanie White told reporters Saturday, "She'll be limited to somewhere between 20 and 25 minutes," per Chloe Peterson of the IndyStar.
That is a notable drop from her usual workload. Clark has averaged close to 30 minutes a game this season, so the shortened window is designed to ease her back into rhythm without pushing too hard, too fast.
Indiana enters Sunday at 13-9, tied with Atlanta atop the East, and a limited but available Clark still gives the Fever a boost against an Aces team led by MVP A'ja Wilson and sitting at 17-6.
Don't miss Clark's return as the Fever battle the Aces on Sunday.
