Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark (22) reacts during the second half of an WNBA basketball game against the Seattle Storm, Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
The Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark continues to focus on her game. She recently hit a buzzer-beater three-pointer from 31 feet away for a 78-76 win against the Washington Mystics.
But rumors about her leaving Indiana are still circulating, and a WNBA commentator and analyst, Rachel A. DeMita, has pushed back, calling the situation "out of control."
"I do understand the kind of doomsday attitude, or like the us-against-them type of content, or just fan or whatever that just stirs up the most engagement, and it just gets the people going," DeMita said. "But I feel like for the past couple of weeks it's truly gotten out of control."
This statement comes after veteran journalists like Jason Whitlock suggested that Clark leave Indiana for the Los Angeles Sparks. DeMita also dismissed these rumors earlier as well, stating that Clark is rather happy in Indiana.
"There’s a ton of conspiracies right now," she said. "There’s a lot of discourse right now around Caitlin and sabotage…Guys, I really think we all need to calm down…The biggest reason being Caitlin Clark has come out multiple times and told us, media, fans, everyone that she’s happy, she loves the coaching staff, she feels healthy."
But what does Caitlin Clark have to say about these online rumors about her? And what is she and her team focusing on?
Caitlin Clark And The Fever Are Not Interested In The Rumors
Recently, while speaking to Front Office Sports, Caitlin Clark addressed the rumors.
"I don’t really know why we’re still on this," Clark said. "We don’t blatantly sit there and talk about everything you guys were writing and what’s in the media. We’re just talking about how we can be better as a team, and that means that we’re good."
While Clark has been in decent form, averaging 18.7 points, 7.9 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game, the Fever collectively haven't been at their best of their game, holding a 6-5 record as of now.
The Fever will next play against the Chicago Sky, a team with a 4-8 record.
The Fever have been decent on offense, averaging 88.2 points per game. They can take advantage of that to win against a crumbling Sky side. The game is scheduled for Thursday, June 11.
