"Not a Leader": Jason Whitlock Compares Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese in Heated Social Media Rant

Veteran journalist Jason Whitlock is once again comparing Caitlin Clark to Angel Reese. He criticized the Indiana Fever star, Clark, for her on-court behavior, with a comparison to Reese and the progress he has witnessed from the Atlanta Dream player.

A fan asked Whitlock whether any athlete faced similar scrutiny. Whitlock responded to this question on June 14, pointing out that Reese has shown "more maturity growth than Clark."

"I don't like Angel Reese. But, so far this year, she's shown more maturity growth than Caitlin Clark. It's a fact. Caitlin is not a leader. She's spoiled. Fun to watch drain threes and pass the ball. But her inability to control her emotions creates problems."

Clark has been good for the Fever this season, but she has also received four technical fouls already. Her most recent technical came during Indiana's 85-75 win against the Connecticut Sun on June 14.

Only 13 games into the season, Clark is halfway to receiving a one-game suspension if she racks up four more technicals. Angel Reese, with three technicals, is not far behind. Reese currently leads the league in rebounds, averaging 12.3 per game.

Earlier in the tweet, Whitlock cited a college incident where Clark flopped, drawing fans onto the court. He also mentioned that people in Iowa date her behavior back to high school and junior high school days.

But this isn't the first time Whitlock has criticized Clark for her on-court behavior.

Earlier, Clark received a technical foul for reacting to a no-call against the Chicago Sky on June 11. She swung her arm in the air towards the referee. Whitlock called her out for having body language and compared her to SGA for foul-baiting.

But amid the criticism, the 2024 No. 1 pick and her team have shown the determination to return to winning ways.

Caitlin Clark's Stats Shine Despite Behavioral Issues

Clark has been great this season, averaging 20.3 points and 7.8 assists per game, along with having 4.6 rebounds per game. She is also averaging 4.8 free throws made per game, with an accuracy of 92.1 percent.

The Fever have also benefited from Clark's performances in recent games, now on a three-game winning streak with an 8-5 record. They stand third in the Eastern Conference standings and seventh in the league standings.

The Fever will face the Toronto Tempo next on Tuesday, June 16. Toronto is currently struggling with form, being on a two-game losing streak. They are currently on a record of 7-7.

The Fever will be the favorites coming into this game, and they hope to continue their fine form lately.

Do you think Jason Whitlock is justified in calling Caitlin Clark out for her emotionality on the court? Let us know in the comments.
