Former NFL player Robert Griffin III claimed that Caitlin Clark is the WNBA's most valuable player, highlighting her record-setting performance over the Chicago Sky on Sunday.
Griffin argued that critics must accept her unprecedented impact on the league, writing, "The WNBA has never seen anything like Caitlin Clark," on X.
In his post, Griffin praised other top stars in the league, including Olivia Miles, Kelsey Mitchell, and A'ja Wilson. But when it comes to who deserves the MVP trophy this year, Griffin believes Clark stands alone.
His reasoning?
"Caitlin Clark has more 30+ point and 10+ assists games in her career than the rest of the WNBA has in league history. She’s only been in the WNBA for 3 years and missed almost all of last season," Griffin wrote on X, adding, "Caitlin Clark haters gotta just accept that she really like that."

Clark recorded 37 points and 10 assists in Indiana's 113-90 win over the Sky on Sunday.
This wasn't just another good game for her. It was Clark's fifth time recording at least 30 points and 10 assists.
The entire rest of the WNBA? That's only happened four times combined. Ever. It makes Clark different from the rest of the league, RGIII claiming.
Even more impressive, Sunday was Clark's fourth 30-point, 10-assist game of this season alone. Plus, Clark sank a career-high eight 3-pointers on 13-of-24 shooting from the field, breaking her previous personal record of seven 3-pointers.
And her 37 points were the third-most scored in a single game in Indiana Fever franchise history.
And as Griffin noted, Clark missed almost all of the 2025 season. A series of tough injuries, including groin, ankle, and back issues, sidelined her for 31 games.
Many wondered if she could return to her elite form after missing so much time. Clark answered those doubts, averaging 21.7 points and a league-leading 8.2 assists per game in her third WNBA year.
Robert Griffin III always backs Caitlin Clark against critics
The former NFL star has consistently defended Clark when critics try to diminish her impact.
After Clark opened the season with 20 points, seven assists and five rebounds against Dallas, then followed it with 24 points, nine assists and four rebounds against Los Angeles, some criticized her slow start from three.
"The Indiana Fever are 2 games into the WNBA season and the haters are already trying to say Caitlin Clark was all hype," Griffin posted on X that time.
He then listed Clark's numbers from the first two games before adding:
“She isn't shooting the 3 ball well and she is still BALLIN. STOP THE HATE.”
By August, as Clark's dominance became undeniable, Griffin called her a "generational talent" with "championship DNA." He didn't just praise her scoring. He highlighted her willingness to sacrifice and make her teammates better.
"When they have the hot hand, SHE FEEDS THEM," Griffin wrote about Clark's approach with teammates Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston on X.
"No selfishness. No jealousy. Just Ball."
And RGIII's most recent praise is no different.
