The special consultant and senior advisor for the Indiana Fever, Lin Dunn, has reposted an article about Fever star Caitlin Clark. However, it was the tone of the article that raised some eyebrows.
Mick, of Mick Talks Hoops, wrote about Dunn reposting the article written by The Athletic's Annie Costabile.
"Lin Dunn retweeting an article which called coaching Caitlin Clark the 'toughest job in the WNBA' and referred to Caitlin as a 'sitting duck during hunting season' is an interesting one."
"Have no issue with the article but why is a Fever employee reposting it?" he asked. This report comes after Stephanie White and a two-time All-Star had a heated argument on the bench.
It happened during the latest game against the Fire, which Indiana lost 100-84. White also replaced Clark with rookie guard Raven Johnson in the same game.
Costabile used the "sitting duck during hunting season" phrase to describe Clark's poor defense, with many journalists, such as Jason Whitlock, also criticizing her for it.
Dunn, who coached the Fever to their first-ever and only WNBA championship in 2012, retired from coaching in 2014. She once again reunited with the Fever and took the role of general manager in 2022.
Dunn selected Clark as the first overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft. Now a special consultant for the team, she was recently spotted during the Fever's training camp ahead of the season on April 21.
Dunn has not commented on the repost. However, the Fever must now prioritize defensive consistency to snap their losing streak.
Caitlin Clark And The Fever Look To Comeback
The Fever, who were among the favorites for the WNBA title, have taken a step back since losing two back-to-back games. They lost against the Golden State Valkyries and the Portland Fire.
White and Clark have now cleared any signs of distress between them, with Clark also saying that White has her back more than anybody.
"We’re both competitive,” White said after the altercation on Monday. “We’re both stubborn. We are more alike than different. Hopefully, we continue to bring the best out of each other."
The Fever have not been so good defensively, allowing 89 points per game this season. They will face the Atlanta Dream in their next game, a team with a 6-2 record. The Dream also has the best stat for rebounds per game this season, at 37.4.
The Fever will be looking to return to winning ways on Thursday, June 4, 2026, with the Dream continuing their dominant run so far this season.
