The 2025 WNBA title winner, the Las Vegas Aces, have not received any invitation to the White House for championship celebrations across American sports. This is the second consecutive year that the WNBA has not been included in the celebrations.
Following the absence of an invitation, the Aces planned to visit the National Museum of African American History and Culture, considering it to be an alternative way to celebrate their title win.
However, due to some scheduling conflicts as reported by reporter Callie Fin, the Aces will not be able to visit the place. They are now set to go to Washington, D.C., for their game against the Washington Mystics on July 22.
This is the first time that the Aces have not been invited to the White House for celebrations.
Back in 2022, when the Aces won their first-ever WNBA title, they were invited to the executive estate and celebrated their win with then-Vice President Kamala Harris.
The Aces were once again invited to the White House in April 2024, when they won their second WNBA title in 2023. They were then hosted by both Harris and then-President Joe Biden.
The current administration has not yet hosted a WNBA or NBA team to the White House. While the Aces will look to receive an invitation in the future, they have to focus on the task at hand.
Las Vegas Aces Maintain High-Powered Offensive Dominance
The Aces have been dominant this season, currently holding an 8-3 record and on a four-game winning streak. They are averaging an astonishing 90.2 points per game.
They have also been brilliant when it comes to assists and rebounds, as they are averaging 23.1 assists and 38 rebounds per game, falling just behind the Minnesota Lynx in these categories.
Furthermore, they are the best team when it comes to making blocks. The Aces have averaged 6.6 blocks per game so far. However, they have not been the best defensive side in the league.
They have allowed 85.5 points per game to their opponents, ranking eighth in the league. They also have a defensive rating of 104.9, which puts their defense in seventh place for now.
A'ja Wilson has been the star player of the team as expected, leading the chart for the most points per game at 25.9. She also ranks first in blocks per game at 2.4.
They will play their next game on Thursday, June 11, against the Portland Fire, who have a 6-7 record and have lost three consecutive games.
