"Just Really Proud": Caitlin Clark Shares Heartwarming Reaction to Her Next Major Career Move

Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark admitted she barely slept before her team’s matchup against the Atlanta Dream as she was eager to reveal the next major step in her career. During the pre-game interview, Clark shared how proud she was of the work that had been put into achieving this milestone.

Clark announced her signature shoe, the Caitlin 1, made in partnership with Nike on Wednesday. Before the Dream game, which the Fever lost 108-101, Clark spoke about her shoe and how excited she was to reveal it.

"I think even yesterday, like knowing that I was gonna post that early in the morning, I didn't sleep very well, because I was just so excited," Clark said. "Kind of like a kid on Christmas. You get to show the world what you've been working on for a couple of years, and I'm just really proud of the work that we did together."

Clark said she was so excited that it made her feel like a kid on Christmas. She was happy she could show the work she and Nike put into designing her signature shoe, and she liked the work the team put together.

"Getting to play in them today, I feel like I keep looking down on them when I'm warming up," she continued. "I've never had so many people staring at my feet when I was warming up, or taking pictures of my feet, which is a little weird, but I'll let it slide in this scenario."

Clark's signature shoe made its court debut on Thursday, June 18, against the Dream. This makes Clark one of the few WNBA players with a signature shoe line.

How Clark Built Her Path to a Signature Shoe

Nike first signed Clark as part of the name, image, and likeness (NIL) deal in October, 2022.

This was before she played her junior season at Iowa. She then signed another upgraded deal with Nike for an eight-year, $28 million deal in April 2024, when the two-time All-Star joined the WNBA.

Nike and Clark announced the 'From Anywhere' signature collection in December 2025, with the announcement video featuring stars like Travis Scott, Jason and Travis Kelce, Michael Che, and Lisa Bluder.

This week was the big reveal week for the collection, as Clark changed her profile picture to a Nike logo with blue C-shaped material surrounding it, whilst also changing her username to catilin1.

She finally got to wear the shoe on Thursday, and also gave a pair of her shoes to Travis Scott, where he can be seen wearing the black color of the CC collection.

The shoes will officially be available for retail on October 1, 2026.

Fans will get to see her with her shoes on again on Friday, June 19, against the Dream, as the teams will play their second back-to-back game.
