"I've had a front-row seat to that growth": Flau'jae Johnson on Unrivaled After Signing a Multi-Year Deal With the League

The Seattle Storm rookie Flau'jae Johnson has been signed by the 3-on-3 basketball league, Unrivaled, on a multi-year contract. Johnson spoke about how she always had the "front-row seat" to watch the league and herself grow.

Unrivaled announced the NIL partnership with Johnson back in December 2024. Then, on July 21, 2025, she became part of The Future is Unrivaled Class of 2025, which included 14 other players like star Paige Bueckers, rookie Olivia Miles, and Azzi Fudd. Johnson has now been officially signed and spoke about it.

"Having been part of the Unrivaled family through its NIL program, I've had a front-row seat to that growth, and it's exciting to now officially join as a player," Johnson shared enthusiastically. "I'm excited to keep growing as a pro, compete against the best, and bring my game, my personality, and everything I represent to the league next season."

The Future is Unrivaled Class multi-day event, as part of the NIL partnership, included skill development sessions, content and merchandise shoots, and group bonding activities.

Furthermore, Johnson is the second player from the WNBA's 2026 rookie draft class, after Miles in April, to sign with the league.

Moreover, Johnson will debut on Unrivaled for its season 3, which will begin in January 2027, according to ESPN.

Additionally, Johnson is a two-time AP All-American at LSU and the 2022-23 NCAA champion, which she won in her first year at LSU. She averaged 14.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game in her four-year LSU career.

She was then picked No. 8 in the first round of the 2026 WNBA draft by the Golden State Valkyries before being traded to the Storm. But how has she been doing for a team that has struggled this season?

Flau'jae Johnson Continues to Shine Amid Her Team's Struggles

Since joining the Storm, Johnson has been impactful. Before the game against the Dallas Wings on June 22, she was averaging 11.4 points and ranked fourth among rookies and third on her team.

Johnson also ranks third and fourth on her team in assists and rebounds, averaging 2.3 assists and 4.9 rebounds per game. She ranks second in rebounds among the rookies this season.

Furthermore, she has been active on defense as well, ranking second among rookies in blocks, averaging a block per game.

However, the Storm have not been able to find their form, having a 3-14 record before June 22, with the Dallas game still going on live.

The Storm will play the New York Liberty next on Thursday, June 25, at Climate Pledge Arena.
