“It’s Not Even Close”: Caitlin Clark Reveals Her True Feelings on Kelsey Mitchell After Win vs Liberty

While Caitlin Clark is often the name most people think of when talking about the best scorers in the WNBA, there is another player on the Indiana Fever squad who might be on an even better run than Clark, who knows that too well.

Kelsey Mitchell has been quite the game changer for the Fever this season, so much so that she is now one of the frontrunners for the MVP award. She usually puts on clinical performances alongside Clark, who gave Mitchell her flowers.

"She's the best scorer in the league, hands down. It's not even close. Like she just makes the game of basketball really pretty and really pure. And it's fun to like be in the backcourt with her." Clark said following the game against the New York Liberty.

"Like it's where I just swing the rock and it's like an automatic assist. And like, it's fun just like getting to watch her do her thing. And it's fun to see like the joy and the passion that she has for the game. Like she truly loves the game." The Fever star added.

Conversations about the best scorer in the WNBA are heavily debated among fans, with the likes of A'ja Wilson, Breanna Stewart, Caitlin Clark, and Kelsey Mitchell the usual suspects.

It really just depends on whether you prefer mid-range ISOs, deep-range shooters, or players who can bully their way to 25 points in the paint every night.

For Clark, Mitchell is the obvious choice, and we can't blame her for that with the season she's having. Mitchell is currently averaging 24.3 points this season, just behind the Aces MVP.

Her brilliance over the past few weeks has been otherworldly, and she once again showed out on Tuesday against the Liberty.

Kelsey Mitchell Continues Her Scoring Run, Makes History with Caitlin Clark

Mitchell dropped a game-high 28 points, scoring 20 in the first half, to power Indiana over New York, so Clark's comments after the game come as no surprise.

And with Clark scoring 22, the dynamic duo once again accounted for 50 of the 106 points the Fever scored against the Liberty. In doing so once again, the duo managed to make WNBA history.

This is their 7th game in the last 11 where they have achieved that feat.

In all 11 of those games, the duo has scored at least 47 points. Since their July 12th game against the Las Vegas Aces, the two stars have been averaging a combined 50.3 points per game.

With Clark and Mitchell's dominance alongside important performances from Aliyah Boston and Sophie Cunningham, the Fever have an 8-3 record in their last 11 games.

If they continue such performances throughout the WNBA playoffs, it is safe to say we will be watching Stephanie White's team in the WNBA Finals.

So, can any other team figure out a plan to stop the Indiana Fever's offensive prowess? Let us know in the comments.
