Minnesota Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve wasn't holding anything back on Sunday night. Minutes after watching Kayla McBride play the best game of her career, Reeve called it flat-out 'disgraceful' that the veteran guard didn't make the 2026 WNBA All-Star Game roster.
"I think the incredible thing about Mac is, well, first of all, she's an All-WNBA player," Reeve told reporters after the game.
McBride delivered a 43-point explosion, knocking down 10 of 14 from three and 16 of 21 overall.
"It's disgraceful she was not an All-Star, All-WNBA player, who chased Paige around while dropping 43."
Reeve’s comment comes after McBride's historic, nuclear performance, which helped the Lynx to a 103-90 victory over Dallas.
"She's just a pro's pro," Reeve added during the same interview, referring to McBride, per The Ballers Magazine on YouTube.
"She just knows that's her job. She embraces it, loves it. Obviously her starting to find the bottom really helped us get separation and kind of gave us a bit of a lift at a time when we were kind of really clunky in that first half."

The snub wasn't a new grievance for Reeve. The WNBA official reserve list included guards Sonia Citron, Allisha Gray, Rhyne Howard, Marina Mabrey, Kelsey Plum, Courtney Williams and Jackie Young, but not McBride.
When Plum later went down with an injury, Phoenix’s Kahleah Copper got the replacement spot.
Copper has had a good season, averaging 20.5 points per game. But she was still shooting 42.8% from the field and 27.5% from three. Meanwhile, McBride was shooting 45.8% from the field and 39.8% from three.
Plus, she was among the league's top-10 scorers, averaging 18.2 points before the All-Star Game.
How Kayla McBride made history in the Dallas Game
McBride's big game did more than fuel Reeve's frustration. It also moved her into rare company on the WNBA's scoring list. Her 43 points pushed her career total to 6,013, passing Lynx legend Seimone Augustus (6,005) and into 18th place all time.
The moment carried extra weight for Reeve, who coached Augustus during her own playing days in Minnesota.
McBride also took down a long-standing record in WNBA history. McBride's 10 three-pointers broke the record for the most three-pointers in a single game.
The old mark was nine three-pointers in a game, a number reached eight times by six different players, most recently Marina Mabrey on June 25.
Before Sunday, McBride’s own high had been eight. She blew past both marks in one night.
