Veteran journalist Jason Whitlock blasted WNBA media for asking just one question about Caitlin Clark during the Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White’s June 30 press conference.
The interview, originally posted on X by Dominic Miranda of WTHR.com, showed White fielding questions about the team. Whitlock fumed at the lack of focus on Clark, who is sidelined with a back injury.
"Is this the complete interview?" Whitlock wrote on X. "The biggest star in the history of women’s basketball is out with an alleged back injury, and there is ONE question about Caitlin Clark. A bunch of trained emasculated dogs afraid to ask a woman a difficult question. Wow."
White was asked whether Clark would practice with the team.
"Oh, no. She's gonna be doing an individual workout today," White told reporters. Whitlock, however, wanted more detail about the injury he termed “alleged.”
Whitlock’s frustration over the lack of injury detail is understandable: Clark’s back problems have plagued her since the season opener.

Clark’s back issues began on May 9 against the Dallas Wings (Indiana lost 107-104). She exited the game to get her back adjusted, according to USA Today.
She then missed the May 20 matchup against the Portland Fire, which Indiana won 90-73. From there, the Fever listed her as “probable” on injury reports.
On June 24 against the Phoenix Mercury, Clark attempted a three-pointer with 6:25 left in the second quarter. Guarded tightly by Valeriane Ayayi, she landed on Ayayi’s foot and immediately grabbed her back.
Clark exited in the third quarter with 5:15 left and later missed the game against the Los Angeles Sparks, though Indiana won 111-87.
Last season, Clark played only 13 games due to recurring groin injuries.
This year, despite the setbacks, she has averaged 21.2 points, 8.2 assists, and four rebounds, leading the league in assists.
White emphasized the importance of recovery. "We'll take this opportunity just to get her treatment, get her healthy, and see what happens. Long-term health and wellness is the most important," White said last Friday, according to The Big Lead.
The Fever will need Clark back quickly. The question now: will she be healthy enough to play the Las Vegas Aces on July 5?
