‘If You Really Care for Each Other’: Caitlin Clark Opens Up About Her Relationship With Aliyah Boston

The game on Thursday night at Gainbridge Fieldhouse clearly demonstrated that Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston have built something at Indiana that transcends basketball.

The Athletic's James Boyd captured Clark's remarks after the game, where he explained the reasons for their on-court connection.

"I think we are good friends. If you really care for each other and love each other, that helps," Caitlin Clark said. "I feel like I always know where Aliyah is. I think we've got a little telepathy now. Hopefully, we get that going more, too."

In just 32 minutes, Boston scored 34 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, added 3 assists, and blocked 2 shots, while Clark finished with 32 points, 7 boards, and 10 assists.

The chemistry took some time to arrive. While competing for Team USA earlier this year, Clark and Boston became fast friends off the court, where they developed an off-court rapport based on playful jabs and true admiration for one another.

The Indiana Pacers have changed drastically since drafting Boston in 2023 and Clark the following year.

Historically, Thursday was the day that investment paid off. Together, they scored 66 points to help Indiana improve to 7-5 on the season. It was the first time in WNBA history that two teammates scored 30 points and grabbed a double-double in the same game.

The Fever were down five points in the last eighteen seconds of regulation, but they rallied to beat Chicago 16-8 in overtime.
Indiana won more than just the game thanks to that comeback.

Along with that, it was Clark's chance to show off a sneaker that caused a stir in the arena for quite a while.

Clark Debuts Custom 'Eras Tour' Nike Kobe 6 PEs in Win Over Chicago Sky

Clark not only broke records on the court Thursday night, but she also made headlines before the game by donning a player-exclusive pair of Nike Kobe 6 Protros, the "Eras Tour," which featured a rainbow gradient design reminiscent of Taylor Swift's record-breaking concert tour.

"These are my last PEs that I was going to debut, so I saved the best ones for last. But you guys obviously know I'm a big fan of Taylor, and the Eras Tour was the best concert of all time," Clark clarified their significance at the post-game press conference.

The link between Swift and Clark is much deeper than a shoe color scheme. Swift was supportive of Clark as she transitioned to a star of the WNBA in 2024, and the two have maintained their friendship.

Clark went to many of the Eras Tour shows at Lucas Oil in Indianapolis and was given many gifts by Swift.

What’s been the best of Clark’s PEs this season? Leave a comment.
