"I was wrong about Caitlin Clark": Skip Bayless Makes Bold Admission After Fever's 108-101 loss to Dream

During the June 18 game, when the Indiana Fever were down 87-78 to the Atlanta Dream, veteran analyst Skip Bayless predicted that Fever star Caitlin Clark would "come back to beat Angel Reese and Atlanta". He was quickly proven wrong after a fourth-quarter Fever collapse.

It was the second game of the season between the Fever and the Dream, which the Dream won 108-101. After scoring 26 points in the first three quarters, Clark picked up her fifth foul of the game and got benched. Bayless took to X to reverse his opinion.

"I was wrong about Caitlin Clark & Fever. With her benched w 5 fouls, they did battle back from 9 down to tie. But Angel Reese (21 & 11) & the Dream prevailed - & did she ever appear to enjoy beating her arch rival. Caitlin didn't return until 3:28 left, didn't score in the 4th."

Angel Reese's brilliant display, scoring 21 points, grabbing 11 rebounds, and adding an assist, caused the Fever's downfall, and Bayless' prediction went awry.

Clark picked up her fifth foul with eight minutes and 41 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. She received the foul after No. 3 Jordin Canada fell in the paint with Clark guarding her.

Although Clark came back in with three minutes and 28 seconds remaining in the game, she was not able to attempt a shot in the closing minutes.

But receiving five personal fouls in a game isn't good news for any player, especially when Clark is already accumulating technical fouls this season.

Clark, the two-time All-Star, has been grabbing fouls left and right this season, having already received four technical fouls.

She received technical fouls against the Los Angeles Sparks on May 13, the Golden State Valkyries on May 22, the Chicago Sky on June 11, and the Connecticut Sun on June 13.

A player is fined $500 for each of the first technical fouls, $1,000 for the fourth to seventh technical fouls. For the eighth one, the player gets fined by $1,500 and carries a one-game ban.

Clark is coming closer to receiving a one-game ban, with the total amount of fines currently being $2,500.

She would now need to be cautious of the fouls she makes. Having too many fouls now can minimize her time on the court, as we saw against the Dream.

Additionally, the Fever have lost their four-game winning streak and now hold a 9-6 record. This puts them seventh in the league standings and third in the Eastern Conference standings.

Indiana will once again play the Dream on Friday, June 19, at the State Farm Arena. The Fever won their first game against the Dream on June 4, 83-71. With the Dream now beating them, the teams will lock horns with a 1-1 record in the league.
