Here's what Angel Reese really felt about the Chicago Sky trade

After two years in Chicago, Angel Reese has moved on from the Sky, a team that drafted her in the 2024 WNBA Draft. The Sky failed to qualify for the playoffs in both years Reese played. So when the news about the trade was relayed, the WNBA star said that she was excited for her new chapter.

In April earlier this year, the Sky traded Reese for 2027 and 2028 first-round picks to the Dream. Atlanta also gave up its right to swap the 2028 second-round pick to the Sky.

"I was so excited; it was a dream come true," Reese told Cosmopolitan about the trade in an interview published on July 30. "Honestly, I wanted to go — it was perfect for me, from the team to the culture to just everything."

Reese had a stellar two-season stint with the Sky. She averaged 14.1 points, 12.9 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game. Her time in Chicago was historic, but the Sky never succeeded.

In Atlanta, however, Reese has found a different environment.

"That organization has shown me nothing but love and support, and just to be celebrating makes my job a lot easier," she added in her response to the Cosmopolitan.

In Atlanta, Reese is playing with ease, sharing the load with other stars like Allisha Gray and Rhyne Howard. She is averaging 15.6 points in Atlanta and made her third consecutive All-Star selection.

But there is a part of Chicago that Reese still misses.

Angel Reese names one thing about Chicago she misses

Angel Reese moved from the Sky, but she continues to have love for Chicago. Since her move from the Midwest to the South, Reese has found one major difference.

"I think the Southern hospitality is something that you just can’t beat," she told Cosmopolitan. "But I do miss the food in Chicago. But the food in Atlanta is pretty good, too."

Reese loves seafood and tacos. Her chef is also from Chicago. Despite the move, Chi Barbie hasn't abandoned Chicago's flavors,

However, she has already taken her first step in developing her love for food in Atlanta.

"Umi. It’s a sushi spot," she said, was her favorite food spot in Atlanta.
