While Indiana Fever’s 113-90 win over Chicago Sky should’ve been the focus, a new Enes Freedom incident stole the limelight. And Fever coach Stephanie White couldn’t stay quiet.
“I think it's important that people like you guys in this room don't give it any gas,” the HC said during the postgame availability posted by Fever’s official YouTube channel on August 24, 2026. “It's a social media thing.”
The former NBA player called himself a WNBA draft prospect and talked about joining the Fever earlier this month. He was a courtside presence on Sunday night, wearing a black T-shirt that read, “WOMAN noun. adult human female."

With 1:22 remaining in the third quarter, Freedom and Sky guard Natasha Cloud engaged in a verbal altercation that resulted in Freedom’s ejection from the arena. The Fever led 33-26 in the third quarter, but the focus naturally shifted from the game.
These social issues have been rampant in the league and Fever has been caught into many. But per White, the reporters should prioritize the games instead of amplifying these off-court dramas.
In fact, Fever star Caitlin Clark also steered away from the topic.
Caitlin Clark Echoes Stephanie White's Message
Given that Freedom talked about pairing up with Clark to play as “modern-day Kobe and Shaq” during an interview with Bruce Pearl around August 15, many probably expected a response from Clark. But the Fever star barely batted an eye.
“To be honest, I didn't see it,” Clark said of the incident during the same postgame availability. “We were talking about it the next play in our huddle. So, I think that's probably a question for Chicago.”
Since Cloud was directly involved and several Sky players had to drag her away from the scene, the mic definitely suited Chicago better. But Clark's deflection pretty much mirrored White's message.
Fever isn’t gonna gas these up and neither should the reporters.
