As Team USA keeps snowballing its way into Berlin’s final, former college basketball player and current WNBA analyst Rachel DeMita is particularly swooned by Caitlin Clark, Paige Bueckers, and Angel Reese.
“I hope that all of the fandoms can put whatever differences they have to the side. And appreciate how fun it has been to watch Paige, Angel, and Caitlin play together,” she said during a recent episode of her Courtside Club podcast, posted on X.
In their quarterfinal blowout of 108-56 over Hungary, Team USA made WC history by recording the most assists in a single quarterfinal game (31). 7 out of 12 players recorded at least one assist, led by Clark’s team-high 9, Bueckers’ and Reese’s 3 each.

Despite having "pseudo rivalries" that stretched from their AAU circuit to college to the W, Reese’s rebounding and Bueckers’ midrange shooting, anchored by Clark’s playmaking, have started to look like a play forged by years-long teammates. And DeMita agreed.
“It is so surprising to me how much chemistry these three have on the court, without having played much together ever,” she added to the same X clip. “Their fandoms don't really like one another ... (But) hopefully the rest of the fandoms are also enjoying their play as well."
But even though DeMita is surprised, Reese knows exactly what fuels this chemistry.
Angel Reese explained how the rivalry with Caitlin Clark became chemistry
Against Hungary, Clark and Reese made some standout passes to each other, including a bounce pass from the former to the latter. Postgame, the Atlanta Dream star revealed what fueled the fire.
“We've played against each other so many times,” Reese said of Clark, per a recent X clip posted by the Underdog WNBA. “I'm sure we know each other's game like the back of each other's hand. So (I was) just easily dishing it off to her; she dishes it off to me.”
Although she didn’t mention Bueckers here, the same logic applies to her as well. Now, all eyes would be on the semifinals set for September 12 and the new tricks this trio have up to their sleeves.
