The WNBA has announced the 2026 WNBA All-Star Game starters list, and one notable omission has sparked debate. Atlanta Dream forward Angel Reese is absent from the starting lineup, and fans are divided on whether she deserved a spot.
The starters include Paige Bueckers (Dallas Wings guard), Caitlin Clark (Indiana Fever guard), A'ja Wilson (Las Vegas Aces center), Aliyah Boston (Indiana Fever center), and others. These players were chosen through a voting system where fan votes carried 50 percent weight, while media and player votes each accounted for 25 percent.
Reese, a two-time All-Star, finished eighth in fan voting and sixth in both media and player ballots. Following the announcement, Real App posted on X on July 2 highlighting Reese’s recent performances and questioning if she was snubbed. The post showcased her scoring and rebounding numbers for the Dream.
The tweet showcased how Reese has been scoring and rebounding for the Dream.
Reese herself expressed disappointment, noting that none of her teammates was selected as starters. “Congrats to the ones that were nominated; they were well-deserved,” Reese said as per ESPN. “But it’s a very big shocker to see that none of us were starters, especially where we are as a team in the league.”
The fans, who were responsible for half of the results, have also spoken up about Reese not being in this year's All-Star Game.

Fans quickly weighed in. Some argued Reese was snubbed, while others dismissed the idea.
“No, she didn’t get snubbed. She stat pads her rebounds and is a walking brick,” one fan commented. Reese is known as one of the league’s best rebounders, averaging 11.6 per game this season, the highest in the league.
"She’s getting all her points from the free throw line and shooting 30% under the rim, so no," another fan replied. Reese is currently averaging 4.7 free throws per game with an accuracy of 72 percent.
Another fan pointed to her consistency. “Definitely if she been having double doubles all season,” one fan wrote. Reese has already recorded 13 double-doubles this year.
Others compared her to fellow players. “I mean this with no disrespect, but you can’t convince me Gabby Williams is playing better basketball than Angel Reese this year, despite the GSV losses,” another fan argued.
While Reese has been averaging 14.8 points, 11.6 rebounds, and 2.5 assists, Williams has averaged 15.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game. The Dream stand fourth in the league standings, while the Golden State Valkyries stand third overall.
“Nah. No one thought she should be a starter. That is no snub. That is no movement. Sorry,” a fan wrote as Reese missed the list.
The 2026 WNBA All-Star Game tips off Saturday, July 25, at United Center in Chicago at 8:30 p.m. ET.
