While the Indiana Fever and the Dallas Wings put on a clinic at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Friday night, a good portion of the WNBA community was already preoccupied with ION's pregame graphic, including Barstool Sports owner Dave Portnoy.
It seems like Caitlin Clark being left out of important posters is becoming a trend this season, and ION, for some reason, took part in that, leaving Clark off its graphic for the Fever-Wings game.
Clark's spot was filled by Lexie Hull, who is averaging 5.5 points per game this season. However, the Wings stars got proper treatment from the TV network, as both Paige Bueckers and Arike Ogunbowale were featured on the graphic.
And as you can already predict, ION received plenty of complaints for snubbing Clark from its graphic, including one from Portnoy. "They out here trolling now?" He wrote on X.

This is certainly an odd graphic, even if we remove Clark for a minute. Along with Hull, ION also put rookie Raven Johnson, who is averaging 3.5 points per game this season.
This is a team that also consists of the likes of Kelsey Mitchell, Aliyah Boston, and Sophie Cunningham. But not a single player mentioned was in the graphic, especially considering the fact that Bueckers and Ogunbowale are on the opposition.
Apart from Portnoy, many fans on social media were as confused, with some believing that ION put out this poster purely for engagement purposes.
Regardless, it is not a good look for the TV network or the WNBA. But while Clark and co. were not present in the graphic, they certainly put their stamp on the game in the 98-87 win for the Fever.
Clark and Mitchell once again showed the world why they are the best backcourt duo in the league right now, accounting for 52 of the Fever's points by themselves.
Clark scored 29 points with 10 assists to go with it, and Mitchell's insane scoring run continued with 23 points. Boston contributed with 16 points and 10 rebounds, while Tyasha Harris scored 15 points in just 17 minutes.
While ION's graphic did not do justice to Clark, it is not really the first time she has been snubbed this season.
Caitlin Clark and the WNBA's Recurring Theme
It is safe to say that Clark completely revolutionized the WNBA the moment she arrived, yet the league has not been treating her like that two years into her magical career.
Earlier this year, the WNBA left Clark off its 30th anniversary poster. That decision sparked a ton of backlash from the sports world.
"The WNBA just keeps driving into a wall at full speed with Caitlin Clark. They have a commemorative poster for 30 years of the WNBA; Caitlin Clark isn't on it. This isn't an ode to the veterans who started the league – Paige Bueckers and Angel Reese are on it. When she broke into the league, you [the WNBA] moved her road games to accommodate the fans. She made such an impact that you transitioned to private jets. And yet Caitlin isn't on the 30-year poster," Fox Sports radio host Colin Cowherd said.
"Her games got double the ratings of A'ja Wilson, the best player in the league. This is a paranoid, weird, insular league."
At this point, the WNBA should just realize that Clark is not only Indiana's most marketable player, but the whole league's. If they do not come to terms with that, they can very well expect more backlash to come their way.
So, why do you think ION snubbed Caitlin Clark off their pregame graphic? Let us know in the comments.
