“Can’t Trust Anyone”: Caitlin Clark Draws Trade Suggestions Amid Debate Over Her Agent

Veteran journalist Jason Whitlock believes that Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark is facing problems with her current team. On June 4, he stated that the Fever were looking to ship star Caitlin Clark to the Los Angeles Sparks.

In another tweet on June 5, Whitlock compared Clark with NHL legend Wayne Gretzky, suggesting that the trade would make sense for the WNBA's growth. He now seems to be appealing to the two-time All-Star to request her own trade from the Indiana Fever. On June 8, he dropped another vid on X, asking Clark to request a trade.

"She has to demand a trade," he said. "She has to take care of herself; she can't trust anyone. Not her head coach, not the assistant coaches, not the general manager, not the team president. She can't trust her teammates. Let me tell you who she really can't trust: she can't trust her agent either."

Whitlock further compared her situation to his second stint at ESPN, saying that no one holds animosity toward her, but she is just "piping hot" and everyone is running away from her.

"The LA Sparks is where she needs to go, and she needs a new agent to orchestrate this entire thing to get her out of Indiana. The Fever are not going to do it; they don't wanna be the bad guys."

Whitlock constantly said that Clark needs a new agent. Her current agent is Erin Kane of Excel Sports Management. He suggested that Clark's father intervene and make the trade happen for her.

For now, this is nothing more than a personal take on Whitlock's part, as no confirmed news or credited sources have indicated that Clark or the Fever is considering a trade to the LA Sparks.

It seems like the team is currently focused on the ongoing league amid the rumors of Clark.

The Fever And Caitlin Clark Focus On What's Ahead

Although the Fever grabbed an important win against the Washington Mystics in a close game, 78-76, they still struggle, holding a 6-5 record in the league. They now stand sixth in the league standings.

The 2024 Rookie of the Year was certainly pleased with the result, but suggested making improvements before the next game.

"No, it’s W. It’s a win for us," she said. "We’re happy about that, but you go back and look at everything and find a way to improve, and certainly improve our defense the best we can."

Clark pointed out the need to improve defense. The Fever have been allowing 86.6 points per game, ranking 11th in the statistic. They also allow 41.3 points per game in the paint, ranking 12th in the statistic.

The Fever are going up against a crumbling Chicago Sky side, who currently stand 12th in the league standings. They hold a 4-7 record.

The Fever will look to grab another win against them on Thursday, June 11.

Do you think that Caitlin Clark can lead the Fever to another victory against the Chicago Sky in the upcoming game? Let us know in the comments.
