Candace Parker Shares Hilarious Take on WNBA Ejections After DiJonai Carrington's Foul

There have been a ton of conversations and debates regarding DiJonai Carrington's hard foul on Sophie Cunningham, for which she was deservedly ejected from the game. But despite all the commotion, WNBA Hall of Famer Candace Parker managed to add some humor to the topic.

On the latest episode of the Post Moves podcast alongside Indiana Fever star Aliyah Boston, the duo addressed a question regarding what actually happens after a player is ejected from the game.

As soon as Parker read the question, Boston hilariously turned the tables on her co-host and asked her, "Candace, can you share?" Parker had no choice but to reveal the time when she herself got ejected from a game.

"I was the first player ejected on a Tuesday at eight o' five.  I did my patent sprint off the floor, and I went to the back, and you kind of just sit down, and you look around, and you're like, now what do I do?" Parker told Boston.

"And Dijonai got ejected pretty early. So she probably had a lot of game. I went and took a shower. Got a little treatment. I got in. I got in an ice bath.  I think the common denominator probably is like a shower. That would be the first thing."

While Parker told her ejection story in a hilarious manner, that was not the case for Carrington, who added fuel to the fire with a controversial statement on Instagram Threads.

Moreover, Fever head coach Stephanie White faced a lot of backlash for taking a side opposite to her own player, defending Carrington's hard foul.

Fans wanted White removed as Indiana's head coach, but Cunningham came in rescue of her coach, revealing that White had not seen the clip before commenting on it.

Sophie Cunningham Defended Stephanie White's Comments

Following the win against the New York Liberty on Tuesday, the talk of the town was still about matters outside the court, as the trend has been in multiple Fever game days this season.

However, Cunningham believed otherwise in the postgame press conference, as the Fever guard defended White and insisted that the locker room was as united as ever.

“Our locker room in there, it’s tight, and we have each other’s backs. Coach loves us. She didn’t see the clip. And you know what, DiJonai is a hell of a player, she’s a great defender, and (White) coached her for I don’t know how many years up in Connecticut, so give her her flowers, and she didn’t see it, and that’s okay."

"Me and Steph are great. Steph is great with all of us, and so it’s really the outside noise that’s trying to distract us. But we’re good.” Cunningham said postgame.

White herself clarified in Tuesday’s pregame availability that she did not see the play in real time and called the foul “egregious” after she watched it.

Such off-court controversies have overshadowed the Fever's immense performances this season, powered by their dynamic backcourt duo of Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell.

As the Fever extend their record to 21-12 with their offense hitting the right gear at the right time, Stephanie White and co. can remove all outside noise if they focus and reach the WNBA Finals. The potential is there, we all know that.

So, do you think the Indiana Fever can overcome all controversies and reach for the stars this postseason? Let us know in the comments.
