Can A’ja Wilson Win a Third Straight WNBA MVP Award?

Veteran A'ja Wilson has once again delivered a series of standout performances in the 2026 WNBA season. As the season is halfway through, a new question arises: whether or not Wilson will win her third consecutive MVP award this year.

The seven-time All-Star has been in tremendous form ever since she arrived in 2018, being the No. 1 overall draft pick by the Las Vegas Aces. Wilson won the 2024 and 2025 MVP awards(league/season awards)and also won the 2023 and 2025 Finals MVP awards, winning the league championship last year.

Wilson has won the MVP award a total of four times, winning it in 2020 and 2022 as well. She is once again showcasing her immense talent and leads the league in points with 25.5 points per game. Wilson led the league in 2024 and 2025, averaging 26.9 points and 23.4 points, respectively.

She is also the favorite to win the 2026 MVP award(league/season award) this year as well, with the odds being at -330 for her to win the prestigious award, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

Wilson has not only been the top scorer, but is also averaging 9.8 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.5 steals, and 2 blocks per game. If we compare it to her last two MVP seasons, Wilson was averaging 11.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.8 steals, and 2.6 blocks in 2024. She averaged 10.2 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.6 steals, and 2.3 blocks in 2025.

Other favorites for the MVP award are Paige Bueckers with +800 odds, Olivia Miles with +900, and Caitlin Clark with +1000 odds. For Wilson to win the MVP award, her team has also helped her elevate into a strong position to win it.

Can A'ja Wilson Lead The Aces To Yet Another WNBA Title

Wilson has won three WNBA titles already with the Aces, in 2022, 2023, and 2025, according to Basketball Reference. This year, not only has Wilson been dominating once again, but the team has shown the same consistency since last year to help her rank first as the MVP award favorite and go for their fourth title.

The Aces stand second in the Western Conference and the league standings. Despite their loss to the Indiana Fever 109-75 on Sunday, July 12, the Aces have a flourishing record of 17-7.

This record is a far better improvement than their last year's 24-game record, when they were 12-12, but later went on a 16-game winning streak.

They are scoring the third-most points per game, at 89.9, and lead the league in assists, averaging 22.4 assists per game this season. The Aces and Wilson look to win the title once again, with Wilson being the favorite to win her third straight MVP award as well. The awards are decided by a panel consisting of sportswriters and broadcasters.

It will be interesting to see if Wilson and Las Vegas can keep up the great form, with 20 more games left to play in the regular season for them. Wilson needs to maintain top-3 scoring to be in a strong position to claim her third MVP.
