With conversation around the WNBA MVP candidates rising, podcaster Jaime Lardis has added her own two cents to it, mentioning who she thinks should be crowned MVP once the regular season ends.
Lardis posted on X on August 29, explaining why she felt Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark deserved to be MVP over the Minnesota Lynx’s rookie guard Olivia Miles.
“Caitlin Clark should be MVP over Olivia Miles because her overall impact is greater. She scores, creates for everyone, controls the offense, and forces defenses to completely change how they play. Olivia does the same, but she’s just not doing it more than Caitlin,” Lardis wrote on X.

According to Lardis’ August 29 X post, Despite being exceptionally talented, Miles’ impact falls short of Clark’s, who is on her third season in the league.
Miles has already broken two of Clark’s rookie records, becoming the fastest to 700 points and 200 assists in 36 games, and scoring the most 3-pointers in a single game, with 8 three-pointers against the Phoenix Mercury.
However, Clark is having her best season in the league so far, after coming off a 2025 season that was cut short by injuries. She has already recorded her sixth career 30-point, 10-assist game, surpassing the rest of WNBA history combined.
She has also become the first WNBA player to score at least 800 points, 300 assists, and 100+ made 3-pointers in a single season.
Furthermore, she became the fastest player in WNBA history to reach 1,000+ points, 250+ rebounds, and 250+ assists (in 54 career games), and set the Fever single-game scoring record with 45 points.
These records further add to Lardis’ comment, revealing the impact of Clark’s achievements over Miles’.
However, not everyone agrees with the podcaster. One sports website did not include Clark in their top three contenders for MVP at all.
What are the odds of Caitlin Clark winning MVP?
According to Fanduel Sportsbook, Caitlin Clark does not appear among the top three players projected to win the MVP award at all.
Per FanDuel, Clark sits in the fourth spot, with +6,000 odds of winning the MVP award, compared to Wilson’s -1000, Miles’ +700, and Mitchell’s 3500 odds.
According to one August 27 X post based on FanDuel odds, A’ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces is most likely to win MVP. She is followed by Miles and Indiana Fever guard Kelsey Mitchell, who have the next best odds.
Clark, despite setting multiple records this season, is conspicuously missing from the top of the leaderboard.
However, with NaLyssa Smith out for the rest of the season, the Aces are facing roster depth concerns. If they fumble in their postseason journey, it would push Miles to the front of the MVP race, and could improve Clark's chances as well.
As far as the odds of winning are concerned, it seems Miles has a greater chance of winning over Clark, despite Lardis’ take on the subject.
