Caitlin Clark was back to her usual best against the Chicago Sky, but the Indiana Fever star caught more attention on what was on her feet than her stats this time around.
Clark sent WNBA and Taylor Swift fans into a frenzy after rocking her Nike Kobe 6 Protro "Eras Tour" PEs at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse. While CC is not new to sporting apparel that gets people going, even she admitted this one had a different feel to it.
"You guys know I'm a big fan of Taylor and the Eras Tour was the best concert of all time, so that's the thought behind these, and I think they're pretty fun," Clark said postgame.
"I've never had so many people ask me for my shoes after the game today. Literally every kid was screaming for them and I felt bad. I'm like, honestly, no. Sorry I got to keep them." She added.
You know the shoes are something special when Clark, who is usually seen gifting her shoes to young fans after games, does not want to hand out this one.
Clark is a die-hard Taylor Swift fan and also attended back-to-back Eras Tour shows in Indianapolis in November 2024. She also joined Swift at two Kansas City Chiefs games in Arrowhead Stadium to watch Swift's now-fiancé, Travis Kelce.
The Eras Tour features a rainbow colorway with pops of yellow, pink, and green, paired with a black-and-white base.
The shoe certainly brought good luck to Clark as well, as she scored an almost triple-double of 32 points, 7 assists, and 10 rebounds in the 114-106 win over the Sky.
Clark also revealed that she was wearing friendship bracelets on her socks to complete the look, as The Eras Tour shoes were the last PEs she was going to debut.
The Nike Caitlin 1 is Coming Soon
Caitlin Clark is likely to wear Kobes for the last time during her third year in the WNBA. Many fans have been eagerly anticipating her signature shoe since she signed with Nike, and the Indiana Fever star has announced that the release is approaching soon.
In the press conference following her game-winning three-pointer against the Washington Mystics, Clark was asked about the latest colorway she was wearing of the Nike Kobe 5 Proto, "Midwest Lakes".
While Clark is seen wearing the Kobes frequently, she admitted she did not actually design these, but gave her approval since baby blue is her favorite color.
The conversation led to Clark's upcoming signature shoe, the Caitlin 1, and she offered a brief but exciting tease. "Very, very, very, very, very soon," Clark said with a smile.
The Nike Caitlin 1 is expected to be released in September of this year. The reported pricing will be Adults ($140), Grade school ($115), and Preschool ($105).
So, after a successful stint with the Nike Kobe, do you think Caitlin Clark's signature shoes will carry the same magic? Let us know in the comments.
