Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark (22) poses for a photo Wednesday, April 22, 2026, during media day at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
Many fans have been eagerly waiting for Caitlin Clark's signature shoe to arrive ever since she signed with Nike, and the Indiana Fever star has revealed the time is almost now.
In a recent Fever press conference, Clark was asked about the latest colorway she was wearing of the Nike Kobe 5 Proto, "Midwest Lakes".
While Clark is seen wearing the Kobes frequently, she admitted she did not actually design these, but gave her approval since baby blue is her favorite color.
The conversation led to Clark's upcoming signature shoe, the Caitlin 1, and she offered a brief but exciting tease. "Very, very, very, very, very soon," Clark said with a smile.
Props are due to both Nike and Clark, as till now they have successfully restricted all leaks of the shoe.
The only information that seems like a guarantee is that the Caitlin 1 will be arriving in September this year. The reported pricing will be Adults ($140), Grade school ($115), and Preschool ($105).
Clark has yet to address anything specific regarding the shoe itself, apart from teasing a brand new performance technology in her signature line.
"The technology we’re putting into my shoe isn’t anything Nike has ever put into a basketball shoe before."
While fan curiosity increases with a statement like this, it would also be the end of an era of Clark wearing the Kobe sneaker line.
Caitlin Clark was the Unofficial Torchbearer of the Nike Kobe Line
Clark signed with Nike in April 2024, entering an eight-year, $28 million signature deal with the Swoosh.
Clark has had many iconic moments in the WNBA while wearing the Kobe shoe line, recently hitting the game-winning three-pointer against the Washington Mystics with the Midwest Lakes.
With Nike releasing Clark's signature logo and launching her own apparel collection in August 2025, it looks like we are in the final stretch of seeing Clark in Nike Kobes.
Following the end of Clark's third year, she will only be wearing her signature shoe line, as Nike will look to pass the Kobe line to someone else worthy of it.
So, what has been your favorite Nike Kobe shoe that Caitlin Clark has worn in the past two years? Let us know in the comments.
