Records pile up silently around certain players, and Caitlin Clark is at that stage of her professional career where it feels like history follows her on every court journey she makes.
The Indiana Fever guard has made her fourth career triple-double, which came in a game where her team beat Portland Fire by a score of 112-98.
The record brings her level with Sabrina Ionescu, who is the New York Liberty guard and ranks third in all-time triple-doubles in WNBA history.

Clark's numbers backed up the milestone with real weight behind them. She closed the night with 26 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, shooting an efficient 5-of-9 from the field while adding two steals in a dominant road performance for Indiana.
This was not the only historical moment that Clark created for herself on Friday. She also became the quickest player in the history of the WNBA to make 1,500 points and 650 assists, accomplishing this feat in just 78 games.
This was an amazing feat to achieve and is one that even beats all the league record books. Clark surpassed the previous record set by Sue Bird of 116 games and currently stands with 1,524 points and 651 assists.
The stats speak for themselves, yet the response from the locker room tells another story.
Stephanie White Praises Caitlin Clark's Triple-Double
The coaching staff at Indiana was unaware that such an achievement had been made by Clark until long after the game had finished.
"It was a really, really impressive effort from her tonight," Stephanie White, the Fever head coach, said in her postgame press conference. "I didn't even recognize she had a triple-double until we got in the locker room. She can do all of those things."
White also pointed to an area of Clark's game that has come together as the season has progressed.
"She's always scoring and finding her open teammates. I think the area that she's continuing to get better in for us now is the defensive rebounding," White said.
That growth has coincided with a five-game winning streak for Indiana, which improved to 19-10 and now holds the best record in the Eastern Conference.
Six different Fever players scored in double figures on Friday, with Kelsey Mitchell matching Clark's 26 points to extend her own streak of 20-point outings to 13 straight games.
