Caitlin Clark has previously broken numerous records, so it's no surprise that her shoe choice at the Pacers game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse had the internet abuzz this past Thursday.
During the Indiana Pacers' 114-106 overtime game against the Chicago Sky, Clark debuted the player-exclusive 'Eras Tour' edition of the Nike Kobe 6 Protro, featuring a rainbow gradient toe inspired by Taylor Swift's Eras Tour.
These shoes feature a rainbow gradient design that was influenced by Taylor Swift's historical concert Tour.
"These are my last PEs that I was going to debut, so I saved the best ones for last. But you guys obviously know I'm a big fan of Taylor, and the Eras Tour was the best concert of all time." Clark said at the post-game press conference.
Clark put the shoes aside for a special occasion. She set a record for most 30-point games in WNBA history with 32 points, 10 assists, and seven rebounds. She shot 15 for 15 from the free throw line and set a new career best with her third 30-point game and ten assists.
Clark was surprised, too, by the response from the audience. She also spoke about how the audience reacted to the shoes during the press conference that followed the game.
"I think they are pretty fun. I've never had so many people ask me for my shoes after the game today," Caitlin Clark further added. "Literally every kid was screaming for them, and I felt bad. I'm like, honestly, no, sorry, I gotta keep them."
Taylor Swift is more than a shoe brand for Clark. While in Indianapolis for the 2024 Eras Tour, Swift gifted Clark in person, and the two have developed a friendship that has brought Clark even more of Swift’s support as she takes the next steps in the WNBA.
On Thursday, the friendship was on full display, and the on-court performance that went along with it allowed fans to talk about Clark and the Fever for a long time.
Clark and Boston Make WNBA History With Matching 30-Point Double-Doubles
On Thursday night, Clark and Aliyah Boston made history at Gainbridge Fieldhouse as they led Indiana to a 114-106 overtime victory over the Chicago Sky.
Clark had 32 points, 10 assists, and 7 rebounds in the game, while Boston had 34 points (on 13-of-26 shooting), 12 boards, 3 assists, 1 steal, and 2 blocks.
The Fever wasted no time marking the occasion on social media, posting "Double-double duo. Tonight, Aliyah Boston (34 PTS & 12 REB) and Caitlin Clark (32 PTS & 10 AST) became the first teammates in WNBA history to have 30-point double-doubles in the same game. Make them All-Stars. FeverVote.com."
It was the perfect timing. On the very same day, at 2:00 p.m. ET, voting for the 2026 WNBA All-Stars began, and Indiana wasted no time directing its supporters to the ballot.
Going into the contest, both players have substantial voting power. With 1,293,526 votes, Clark took first place in the entire league in 2025. Boston came in third with 1,174,669 votes. There’s little reason to believe momentum will slow.
