Caitlin Clark had a 3-word response to the FIFA World Cup Final

Caitlin Clark always speaks her mind, whether she is on or off the basketball court. The star guard watched the FIFA World Cup Final and shared her honest reaction.

The conversation happened after an Indiana Fever practice on Monday, July 20. Clark stood in the media room speaking to reporters. An interesting topic of the discussion was the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final between Spain and Argentina.

However, her review of the game was very blunt. "Boring, really boring," she said.

The video clip of her media session was posted on X by @RomeovilleKid, the account of James Boyd from The Athletic. She mentioned it felt like players were running back and forth for hours for one goal.

Spain defeated Argentina 1-0 after extra time. Ferran Torres scored the winning goal in the 106th minute. The match was viewed as a defensive, low-scoring struggle, which aligned with her opinion.

After a July 18 win over the New York Liberty, she already shared she was supporting Argentina. "I'm cheering for Argentina. I want Messi, so I'll be cheering hard," she noted. A report highlighted that Messi is her favorite soccer player.

Clark watched the match while traveling with the Fever and did not attend in person. She did attend a USA versus Bosnia group-stage match earlier in the tournament.

The media session offered a more in-depth look at her current basketball season and mindset.

Clark also shared updates on her health, teammates, and competitive mindset

In the same media session, she noted that she was "feeling good, great" after playing her first back-to-back games in two years. This positive update reveals her strong recovery after earlier injury issues.

She also discussed her upcoming Nike signature shoe, noting there will be 'options for everybody' when they launch. Her favorite colorway right now is the all-white Caitlin 1. There is already excitement surrounding this growing Nike release.

Next, she offered praise for her teammate Kelsey Mitchell. This came right after a 33-point performance against New York. Finally, she addressed receiving her 6th technical foul of the season during the Liberty game.

She picked it up after arguing for a foul following hard contact involving Jonquel Jones while she was defending Marine Johannes. She is now just two technical fouls away from a one-game suspension under WNBA rules.

When a reporter asked if she would change her approach, she replied, "No." An X user, @TheLukaVerse, posted the one-word response.

Did you find the World Cup final just as boring, and which team were you rooting for?
