Caitlin Clark proved she belonged on the sport's biggest international stage at the 2026 FIBA Women's World Cup, yet her name keeps slipping out of the conversation when reporters break down what made Team USA's gold run work. It happened again recently, and her fans are done letting it slide. 

Clark's tournament was far from quiet. She opened with 14 points and 11 assists against China, went scoreless in a tight win over Italy, and still contributed 12 points in 13 minutes off the bench as Team USA beat France 97-79 for its fifth straight world title. 

Despite all of Clark's contributions to the team, during the recent episode of 'Her Hoop Stats' hosted by Helene Williams and Cindy Brunson, the two WNBA reporters praised the entire roster without mentioning the Indiana Fever point guard. 

"I thought it was a good group, and it performed better than I anticipated because, to your point when we started this conversation, you don't have the best player in the world on the roster in A’ja Wilson," Brunson said on the podcast. "And I really thought the contributions from Phee and Aaliyah Boston and the surprisingly efficient and effective play of Angel Reese."

Brunson further acknowledged the two new additions to the roster, Sonia Citron and Kiki Iriafen. 

"I think I was a little bummed that Kiki and Sony didn't get more time, but it was not surprising because they were such late  additions."

Furthermore, in the conversation, Helen Williams went on to praise Team USA’s coach, Kara Lawson’s coaching style.  

"Kara Lawson is such an elite communicator. Like, she just, I mean, when I look at coaching, and she just absorbed like everything from everybody, and she's been able to, you know, fashion her own philosophy"

While the rest of the team received their flowers, fans were quick to notice that Caitlin Clark was left out of the conversation entirely.

A clip of the podcast was posted by Brick Center on their X account highlighting the issue. Several fans took to the comment section to make their feelings known. 

One fan gave their take on the situation as they commented, 

"Not mentioning her speaks volumes!"

Prior to Clark being omitted completely, back in August 2026, Cindy Brunson dismissed Caitlin Clark's 37-point, 10-assist performance against the Chicago Sky as 'stat padding,' while praising Angel Reese and Paige Bueckers for similar or lesser stat lines in the same stretch. 

Highlighting this, a fan wrote, 

"I’m convinced Cindy Brunson gets paid to hate on CC"

Another fan echoed similar sentiment as they commented, 

"Brunson doesn’t like Clark, that much is clear."

One fan did not hold back as they expressed their frustration with Brunson 

"@CindyBrunsonAZ your hate and envy is sickening."

A fan called out both Williams and Brunson for skipping on Clark completely. They commented, 

"They really sat there and named half the roster like it was a roll call… then just ghosted the one filling every arena. Wild work."

For Caitlin Clark's fans, this wasn't a one-off. It's a pattern they're not letting go unnoticed.
