Caitlin Clark fans unhappy as A’ja Wilson, Olivia Miles dominate monthly WNBA awards

With the regular season coming to an end, the WNBA is celebrating the achievements of some of its best players this season.

However, fans of Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark aren’t pleased with the WNBA lauding Las Vegas Aces center A’ja Wilson and Minnesota Lynx guard Olivia Miles.

Recently, a WNBA podcaster, Mick (@DBGyt_) posted on X, pointing out that despite making a record-breaking comeback this season, somehow the WNBA never awarded Caitlin Clark the Player of the Month award.

“Caitlin Clark had the first ever 200 point & 100 assist month in WNBA history… She had more 34+ point & 10 assist double doubles in August alone than every player in the history of the WNBA combined… Somehow didn't win player of the month…”, Mick’s X post stated.

According to HITC, Clark became the first WNBA player in history to record 200+ points and 100+ assists in a month. Across 11 Fever games in August, she scored 268 points and 103 assists.

The Fever guard also scored 34 points and executed 12 assists in a 111-91 win over the Connecticut Sun on August 28. It followed her 37-point, 10-assist performance during the August 23 game against the Chicago Sky, which Indiana won 113-90.

That’s not all. Clark also set the Fever franchise’s single-game scoring record with a 45-point performance against the Seattle Storm in July 2026.

To the Clark fan on X, it is inconceivable that despite her numerous achievements, Clark didn’t win the Eastern Conference Player of the Month in May, July, and August.

But what prompted the outburst was a recent X post by the WNBA, celebrating Wilson and Miles’ accolades this season.

WNBA celebrates Western Conference players’ monthly league achievements

On September 2, the official WNBA X account shared a post featuring Aces center A’ja Wilson and Lynx guard Olivia Miles, celebrating how they have been winning league honors every single month.

“Every. Single. Month 😮‍💨 A'ja Wilson and Olivia Miles went a perfect 4-for-4 in monthly honors this season! 🏆 A'ja: 4x Western Conference Player of the Month🏆 Olivia: 4x Rookie of the Month #WNBASeason30,” the X post stated.

Wilson won Western Conference Player of the Month for four consecutive months, from May to August, stretching her record to 16 career monthly awards.

She also won multiple Player of the week awards this season as well, which has contributed heavily to the veteran’s chances of snagging the fifth MVP award of her WNBA career.

Miles is also flourishing this season. The WNBA X post noted that she has won Rookie of the Month four times in a row. The Minnesota rookie is also the frontrunner for Rookie of the Year and a heavy favorite in the league’s MVP conversation.
