Caitlin Clark earns praise for classy moment with this Hollywood star

Caitlin Clark just added another historic performance to her season. But the moment fans couldn't stop talking about came after the final buzzer.

After the Fever's win over the Chicago Sky on Sunday, Clark shared a hug and a conversation with Ted Lasso star Jason Sudeikis.

The brief exchange sparked chatter about a possible crossover appearance, according to Kenny Nosay of Total Pro Sports.

It's exactly the kind of moment that's earned Clark praise all season, not just for what she does on the court, but for how she carries herself off it.

Paolo Songco of Chicity Sports pointed to her humility, and the brief exchange with Sudeikis offered another example of the image she has built with fans and people around the league.

Why a Sudeikis crossover could make sense

On paper, a football show and a basketball star make an unlikely pair. But Ted Lasso's fourth season centers on women's athletes, with Sudeikis's character taking over a fictional second-division women's football team called the Lady Greyhounds.

Given that theme, even a brief cameo from Clark wouldn't feel out of place. Nothing about an actual crossover has been confirmed, but the connection is easy enough for fans to imagine after seeing the two together.

The moment came on a night when Clark had already given fans plenty to talk about on the court. She finished with 37 points, going 8 of 12 from three-point range, to go with 10 assists in Indiana's 110-90 win, according to Kenny Nosay of Total Pro Sports.

It was the fifth time in her career she has scored 30 or more points while handing out 10 or more assists in the same game, a mark no other player in WNBA history has reached more than once.

Kelsey Mitchell also scored 30-plus in the same game, giving the two Fever guards their third career outing scoring 30 or more together, the first pair of teammates in league history to do so, according to Nosay.

The win also snapped a two-game skid for Indiana and closed out a five-game road trip at 3-2, with the Fever now off until they host the Connecticut Sun on Friday.

The stats made Clark's night historic, but the brief exchange with Sudeikis gave it a different kind of spotlight. Whether or not it ever leads to a Ted Lasso cameo, the moment was another reminder of the attention Clark continues to attract well beyond the basketball court.
