Caitlin Clark may have been sidelined with a back injury on June 27, 2026, but she still found herself at the center of a moment that had nothing to do with basketball.
During the Indiana Fever's Inspiring Women Night at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, longtime usher Judy got the surprise of her life when her son Kyle showed up after seven years away serving in the military. Clark watched the moment from the bench and later reshared the Indiana Fever's Instagram post about the reunion on her own story.
"ππππ Judy is the best π₯Ί," Clark wrote on her Instagram story after resharing the post. Clark also dropped a comment directly on the original post, writing, "I'm crying again. π€π€π€ amazing amazing amazing."

The Fever post highlighted that it was βthe best giftβ when she saw her son after seven years of being separated from him, with her son giving her the surprise during the Inspiring Women Night sponsored by Anthem BCBS.
The event took place against the backdrop of a fantastic performance by the Fever team. The Fever defeated the Los Angeles Sparks 111-87 with an overall field-goal percentage of 55.2 percent.
Mitchell scored a team-high 26 points in just 26 minutes, with Boston scoring 17 points along with seven boards, and Harris stepping in for Clark to score 16 points alongside five boards and three assists.
The win continued the strong performance of the Hoosiers, but it was an off-court incident that got people talking.
Caitlin Clark's Bench Role During Fever Win Highlights Her Impact Beyond the Court
Clark's omission from the starting lineup was evident, but her presence off the court was certainly not. Clark watched her teammates destroy the Sparks in an 111-87 victory, as she sat courtside for the entire game.
The Fever had an impressive 55.2% shooting percentage and enjoyed a huge 41-25 margin in the boards against the depleted Sparks team, which even lacked the services of their top scorer, Kelsey Plum, due to a leg injury.
Monique Billings came off the bench to add 15 points to a well-rounded performance, which saw Indiana lead by as much as 35 points.
Clark is one of the key players for the Fever, having averaged 21.2 points and 8.2 assists in the season so far. However, she is not expected to miss much time, according to coach Stephanie White.
Even without Clark on the court, her association with the Fever team, including Judy the usher, remained strong.
