Just days after securing the World Cup title with Team USA, WNBA star Caitlin Clark shifts her focus to the NBA. A lifelong fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, Clark was hyped ahead of their season opener.
Just before the clash between the Chiefs and the Denver Broncos, Clark dropped a five-word response for her favorite team.
"We are back! Good luck!" Clark wrote on X.

The Chiefs got back in style with a dominant 31-10 win at Arrowhead Stadium. The superfan in Clark surely enjoyed the perfect start to the season after wishing her team good luck through her X post.
Clark grew up in West Des Moines, Iowa, supporting the Chiefs. In fact, rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs is a family tradition for the 3× WNBA All-Star.
"I've been a Chiefs fan since I was a young girl," Clark told Peyton and Eli Manning in 2023. "My brother was a Chiefs fan, my Dad was a Chiefs fan. I have cousins in Kansas City who were Chiefs fans.”
Clark has proven she's no bandwagon fan, sticking with the franchise through tough periods.
As recently as January 2025, Clark was present at the Chiefs' AFC Divisional Round playoff game against the Houston Texans at Arrowhead Stadium. She has been spotted in Taylor Swift’s suite often.
Clark returns to action on Friday against the Toronto Tempo after a successful World Cup campaign.
From bench to game-changer: Clark's World Cup impact
Much was said about Clark’s role at the World Cup. However, the Fever guard adapted to her new role really well.
“I maybe haven't come off the bench in a really long time in my career,” Clark said, as reported by IndyStar’s Carter Jones. “But it becomes normal to you. You find your role, you find your rhythm.”
Clark was not in the starting lineup throughout the World Cup campaign. That made fans question head coach Kara Lawson’s decision.
However, Clark found her groove, averaging 7.1 points, 5.8 assists, and 2.4 rebounds per game before the final.
In the final against France, Clark scored 12 points and three assists in just 13 minutes to completely change the course of the game.
