Caitlin Clark delivers a bold response after being booed at Iowa

Caitlin Clark, the Indiana Fever guard who led the Iowa Hawkeyes to two Final Fours, drew a roar as a guest picker on College GameDay's first Iowa City visit in 20 years. One pick later, the crowd turned on her.

Clark chose to pick the Iowa State Cyclones over the West Virginia Mountaineers during ESPN's College GameDay.

"I'm taking Iowa State. I said I want to get 100% accuracy. You can boo me, I'll make you happy at the end," Clark said.

Iowa defeated Iowa State by 16-13 on September 12th, but the fans came out to watch the Iowa football team. However, Iowa State was a favorite by three points at home, and in spite of their 2-2 against 3-1 West Virginia, they defeated them 45-42 at the end of the game.

Her follow-up explanation became even more personal on the same ESPN show, as the audience kept making noise.

"My brother played football at Iowa State. Give me a little break here," Clark added.

Pat McAfee, an analyst for College GameDay and a West Virginia graduate, supported the Mountaineers, which influenced the panel toward them.

However, Clark managed to win the audience back by choosing the undefeated Hawkeyes, who came into the game 4-0 with a victory over the Michigan Wolverines.

However, Clark had two more chances, which tipped the balance back in her favor.

Caitlin Clark's Signed Shoe Giveaway Gave Iowa City a Souvenir

The booing did not last very long as College GameDay moved on to discuss Iowa against Ohio State, and this was an opportunity for Clark to get back at the audience with a bold prediction, which held a lot of clout at Kinnick Stadium.

On ESPN, there was no uncertainty about who Clark supported.

"You guys know who I'm picking. We're gonna have Julian Sayin rattled today. The stadium is going to be going crazy. Everybody better be loud. I got the Hawkeyes, come on," Clark said.

She then threw out signed pairs of her Nike Caitlin 1 shoes into the crowd.

"Come on. You've got to throw these out. All right. Come on, get loud. I want some. Come on. There you go. I signed them all. Don't worry. I signed them. Here you go," Clark said.

The shoes were sold out online minutes after they became available on October 1st, making all the signed pairs into highly valued collectibles.

Jeremiah Smith, one of the Buckeyes' wide receivers, set a record on the day of the 31-14 victory, which was praised by Hawkeyes head coach Kirk Ferentz.
