The Indiana Fever are enjoying one of their most successful periods in recent memory, thanks to the efforts of their backcourt duo consisting of Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell.
While the Fever's offense is sorted, their defence is not on that level yet, with turnovers being one of their biggest weaknesses. The Fever roughly averages 14.3 to 15.4 turnovers per game, but have since reduced that stat in recent games.
In the last six games, the Fever have recorded only one with over 13 turnovers. The Fever had only 11 in the game against the New York Liberty on Tuesday, as Clark revealed what went right and what the turnover limit for them should be.
"Our goal is 12 every night... I'm pretty sure our record is basically undefeated when we have 12 or less turnovers. So that's a big stat for us, and this isn't a team that necessarily is going to turn you over. That's not really just what they do." Clark said postgame.

"But I think in return, like we did a really good job of scoring off of their turnovers. I think we had what, like, 20 points off of their turnovers or something like that. So, you know, that's a big focus point, probably a top three key to win every single time we're going into a game, is that we want to be 12 or less."
It is refreshing to see Clark taking the responsibility of addressing turnovers, as she leads the Fever with the most. Clark has averaged 4.8 turnovers per game this season.
Clark had four turnovers Tuesday, but Indiana recorded 11 on the night, three less than its season average. The Fever are 10-3 when they commit 13 or fewer turnovers.
Regardless, Stephanie White's team is on the way to the WNBA playoffs after extending their record to 21-12 for the season, and all credit goes to their unbeatable offense.
Indiana Fever's Backcourt Duo Makes History
Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell have established themselves as the WNBA's best backcourt duo this season. And on Tuesday, the Liberty had to find it out the hard way as well.
The dynamic duo once again accounted for 50 of the 106 points the Fever scored against the Liberty, as Clark contributed 22, while Mitchell added 28.
This is their 7th game in the last 11 where they have achieved that feat.
In all 11 of those games, the duo has scored at least 47 points. Since their July 12th game against the Las Vegas Aces, the two stars have been averaging a combined 50.3 points per game.
With Clark and Mitchell's dominance alongside important performances from Aliyah Boston and Sophie Cunningham, the Fever have an 8-3 record in their last 11 games.
If they continue such performances throughout the WNBA playoffs, it is safe to say we will be watching Stephanie White's team in the WNBA Finals.
So, do you think the Indiana Fever are favorites to win the WNBA title if they continue this scoring form? Let us know in the comments.
